Just got my oculus yesterday and immediately did comedy. Tried out some bits and told stories I’ve never had a chance to do in front of strangers and it went really well. Got laughs and people cheering me on and supporting me. It was such a thrill. I was nervous as first but I wanna keep going! I even joined in on an improv show

I’m waiting for the Boxing Day sales to see if the price drops and getting one. The google maps thing will be massive for me. I lost my dad this year and I know that on the older google maps when they took a picture of his house he was in the front garden doing some gardening. Seeing him on there in VR would be amazing.

I bought this about a month ago as a Christmas present to myself. I am 69 years old and had to get my nephew to help me set it up. I had a bit of motion sickness and took the suggestion to use the VR in small bites. I am a solo travelers and love National Geographic and Wander to visit areas first before I pay the $$$ to actually go there. I really appreciate your video tips. Thanks!

8:21 I would also recommend that if you live with others, marking out that boundary on the floor with something like blue masking tape as well. That way for those not in the VR space with you, they know the space you are using and you will have less chance of people wandering through your VR space and getting smacked in the face with a VR controller. Granted, this won't stop you tripping over animals unless your dog is exceptionally well trained to never cross the blue tape. But it should cut down drastically on the one-two takedown of your wife/husband or child. Or having to explain why your roommate has a black eye today.

Just bought my quest 2 with the 256gb storage and resident evil 4 included (plus beat saber deal). It is amazing. Watching Christmas movies in the Amazon app is like watching them in an Imax theater.

8:31 there is a fix to this if you want the most room possible. You can turn up your guardians sensitivity which will make it appear faster and appear when you are farther away. I have the sensitivity turned up by a lot and I like it because the room I play in is small.

Use one square foam pad from a fatigue mat set, works really well keeping you anchored in a square

Playing with kids is actually great if you have grandkids :) . We are having a lot of fun, they live 400 miles away so only get to see them in person a few times a year
