When my laptop upgraded to Windows 11 and started to show advertisements I had enough. Now after using different distros I have started using Arch on all my computers.

If anything the future trends towards fewer distros. At least fewer well managed distros. There are a number of distros RN that get crappy realeases bundling in beta software and hoping for the best. I thing we should only hope that these distros either find their feet to stand upright or fall on their face.
Reality was that distros should have never been a thing, at least not for the average end user. It's the fragmentation of the community that breeds the need for the vast majority of distros and most of the time that fragmentation is driven almost exclusively by willful disobedience. Not for the purpose of creating a better product but because "I want it that way mentality" even if someone else ends up paying the price for this mentality, usually the developers of the software. Overstretched devs lead to the view that Linux is buggy and unstable (at least the graphical linux desktop definitely is) which further hampers linux's footing as anything but a costomized os for the ppl willing to invest the time in it.
