Scotty Kilmer, mechanic for the last 46 years, shows how you can fix those annoying AC leaks the take months for enough to leak out so your AC doesn't blow cold anymore. With UV leak dye, it's not the insane hair pulling event it used to be.

I give this guy credit for making this look super easy when, in reality, its a huge pain in the a**. LOL

sealers are generally dangerous, they clog up ac systems. find and fix a leak mechanically

Very straight forward, thank you for your videos.
I was wondering what kind of refrigerant is better for car ac.

I had a slow leak on a '98 Jeep Cherokee I bought last year...used the exact same method to find the leak. Unfortunately for me, the evaporator was the culprit - so complete dash disassembly was required. Thanks for posting up your informative videos. They are nice to watch, even by professional mechanics like myself.

@MattTrevett Sure, but this system was already empty, I had filled it up months ago and put leak dye in then. Now it was empty, but the dye did its job.

@safenders put some leak dye in and see if there really is a hole, or if you can't see it, use a refrigerant sniffer which would beep when put in the dash if it's leaking there.

I just found your video's today, and this might seem crazy, but I think I am in love with you. Thanks for all the work you put into your video's

@mrchoppaboy often a bad idle up valve when the ac or defrost is turned on. Injectors are rather hard to diagnose, they can do all kinds of things, from leaking to causing hesitation

@havocmia yes, put uv leak dye in, and check there, and everywhere else for that matter for the green dye leaking out

@MrDaveythewavey19 that's loading the charging system up. Have the alternator checked at a place like auto zone with the AC turned on, they do that free. If the belt is loose, it can do that, but a weak alternator can also do that.

@wtawhite you use whatever the cars use, I put pag oil in all of mine now.

@SuperchargedMustang5 some sealers work, some are crap, depends which one you bought. And NEVER put any sealer in a dirty cooling system, it must be clean or things will clog up

@MrDaveythewavey19 generally noisy compressors like that are shot, period. Even if it's just the clutch, that normally shows the compressor is shot or on its way out too.

@DALE97DSM no, it's a compressor from harbor freight. My tester is from
UV systems years ago though.

@TheKnifedge many things can make em do that. Start by having the battery and alternator load tested, places like auto zone do that. Pray it's just one of those

@johnkor R 134 A can be used on any car, if it came with R 12, it can be converted to R 134a easily

@GJJS one that fits on there, many different sizes. I only look at em with my eyes when I work on em, then guess with what size I think fits on my tool rack until I guess right.

@Flatbed12 same as other engines, just has that boost done electronically when the computer tells it to.
