Ductless Mini Split AC Systems - How They Work

Ductless mini split technology has come a very long way in the past 10 years. Energy efficient systems now far exceed the available efficiencies of central air units, with some ductless systems offering up to 30.5 SEER.

Multi-room (or multi-zone) systems are perfect solutions for homes or offices that prefer greater control over their HVAC and room comfort.

My friend just recently installed a mini-split in his house (patio converted to home-office).  I had never heard of Ductelss AC system before.  This video is so helpful (and cute!) to explain it in lay-man's terms what it is, how it works, and why it will work for what I need (extra HVAC support in my bonus room).  Thanks!!!

I'm confused. There are still ducts, otherwise, how would the cold air get in? Do they run through an attic crawl space? Only, it looked like $1300-$2000. Is that for each split unit? How long does it take to install?

What do I know about ductless minisplit systems - they are junk. At least most of them are junk.
