Thanks!!!! Phoenix AZ here, and you saved a couple from literal heatstroke!!!
114 degrees today in the shade, and it's a different kinda heat this year. No joke. Severe heat. 😢

Thanks again!

In case you couldn't understand the jumpcut between explaining what he was going to do and just doing it, when you pull out the control panel, you have to take out the two plugs on the on and off switch. There is a little bit of plastic cover it so you got to cut it off to expose the metal part. Then you place the two metal parts to touch and tape that in. I didn't even have a volt meter and it worked.

Doubt you’ll see this. But I was just about to throw out AC but I was so mad it’s so hot in my room I decided to mess with it some more, google and YouTube things and I saw your video about bad switch and said maybe thats why all the sudden it’s hard to flip the switch on now! clicked on video and it was same exact AC unit and I tried what you did and it Thank you my guy!!

Thanks a lot. I looked at the one side and I saw that I guess you just flattened the one so they could fit securely- when 'I went to go peel back one of the seals that was over one of the outserts, half of it broke off. but there was just the half and was flat. That was the problem the connection was going bad. Well at least I have cool air thanks.

I identified the bad switch, but I wanted to see if others were having the same issue. Clearly they are

Thanks... Very helpful.
Say, where is the fuse located on a wall or window mount A/C? Interior or exterior side?

pro tip: if your ac looks like this, clogged with dust and cigarette crap remove the covers, switch panel and hit it with a garden hose and some coil cleaner, Dont have coil cleaner? Foaming bathroom cleaner works equally as well.
DO NOT GO SIDE TO SIDE ON THE COILS GO UP AND DOWN YOU WILL BEND THE FINS!!
also you can buy a fin straightener and cleaner in one at home depot for $5 or so.
Let the electronics dry out or put a fan in front of it, and the a/c should be ready to use in a few hours, Do this to mine every few years, saves me much on my bills and the units cool better.

When I dont want to drag a hose to them I use a spray bottle with bleach water and a shopvac, The bleach water kills the mold for people with allergies like me.

The owners manual specifically says : Do not use the breaker on power cord as an on/off switch.

It was nice of them to make all those wires accessible. Newer ones hide them deep inside.
