What to do With 1 Day in Jaipur

We only had one day to explore Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, so we were sure to make it count! Visiting Jaipur is one of the most common travel destination in India and it really is for good reason! There are a lot of things to do in this city so we had to carefully choose what we wanted to fit into our one day in Jaipur.

Our first stop in this travel vlog is the famous Amber Fort (or Amer Fort), which we learned was a palace for previous Maharaja and is a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours. Not only is the architecture at Amber Fort stunning, but the accessibility to so much of the fort makes it a really fun place to explore.

The next place we visited in Jaipur was a famous photo spot called the Panna Meena ka Kund Stepwell, and man is it stunning! It's so photogenic, even if the water colour is a little iffy :p

After a quick look at Jal Mahal (which makes for a nice quick pit stop), we visited the most anticipated tourist attraction of the day; Hawa Mahal! The incredible Wind Palace is everything we imagined it to be, although we didn't anticipate just how loud it is! The street in front of Hawa Mahal is very busy, and when you add all the tourists and shop keepers into the mix, it can quickly become overwhelming. We loved seeing Hawa Mahal and could have stayed for hours taking various photos and videos; it really is an amazing structure and is Jaipur's number 1 tourist attraction for good reason!

Last but not least, we toured around the City Palace to see how the modern day Royalty live. Surprisingly, this is actually the stop that we would suggest you skip if you're short on time in Jaipur. Unless you pay extra for entry into special rooms, the palace itself doesn't offer visitors as much to see or do as we expected. If you only have one day in Jaipur like we did, maybe skip a visit to the City Palace and check out another fort or explore the Rajasthani cuisine a bit more!

We hope this video helps you plan your visit to Jaipur, especially if you only have one day in the Pink City!

After watching your video I messaged Dinesh and organised a similar day trip. He was very communicative, polite, safe, on time, and spoke excellent English. He also did not try and upsell us or take us places we did not want to go. I would also definitely recommend his services. Thank you for sharing his details!

India hosts largest number of elephants of any country in the world outside africa, 95% elephants are in forests in herds roaming freely. elephants are worshipped in India. Elephant headed Ganesha is one of the most popular deity in India.

I understand it's natural for someone to think the elephants are being ill treated, but trust me, of all the "work" elephants in the world, these elephants live the best lives. Because
1. They carry just 2 people which is hardly 120-150 kilos together. In other places on earth they are made to carry logs that weigh in tonnes
2. You must visit these elephant facilities on spare days. They get the best of treatment. They are bathed in river, taken for a swim, attended by vets.
3. They are fed the best quality foods. If you saw even a female elephant had tusk, which says they get enough nutrition, because that doesn't happen in wild.
4. They are government property.
5. They are often taken for walks in forests, or left in forests for somedays. In this way they breed with wild elephants and continue the population. Or sometimes they are freed when they are past 50.

We called Dinish and he was really sweet. His cousin Mukesh was our tuk-tuk driver and he was very responsible in his driving, patient, and courteous. Thank you for the tip. I would also recommend everyone going to Jaipur contact Dinish.

It was not so simple being a maharaja in India as you put it.There was serious involvement of battles and epic ones too .... numerous warriors that went down in the history books for their valour ..always good to enhance your knowledge by visiting the library, dewde

You brought back lots of memories for me. I went with a friend in 2019 and we were worried about the elephants too.

Beautiful! Thanks for bringing us along. I'm starting to think Nicole needs to start charging to have her photo taken like the other tourist attractions. Lol

I'm not being racist but the reason the crowd gets attracted to Nicole is her skin colour, mico looks asian and so similar to North East people whilst Nicole is white skinned and Indians find it very fascinating to take pictures with someone foreigner especially people from rural areas

Indian Elephants have a history of being petted through immemorial number of generations. These pet elephants are raised by, fed and taken care of very well in a very personalized way. They get to live with their family. Every elephant has a dedicated human friend called "Mahut" who is the caretaker and also driver of that elephant. This is quite a natural and loving relationship from both ends and a very old bridge that Indians have established with them.

Nicole and Mico, thank you so much for your videos, as well for the tips Mico shared with me over TripAdvisor! We went to the Golden Triangle in early April and had a great time. We contacted Dinesh for the auto rickshaw (tuk tuk) services. That day he was busy, but he sent his nephew, Sharuk, who was very friendly, taking us to Amer Palace, Jal Mahal, etc. In the end he took us to a textile store where I ordered tailor made shirts. A memorable trip and we are already planning to go to India again!

I like the guy seems more level headed and mature in how he talks about, the woman seems to have very sarcastic tone whether its water the color of the city. Most vloggers come to india to generate views hopefully there will be some who genuinely love to visit a country for its varied culture and beauty.
