Here we go and welcome to the long-term Surface Pro 7 review. I used it for the past six months as my daily driver and I just want to give you three reasons why you should not buy one. It is really weird that the biggest problems are due to software constraints and driver issues. But Microsoft never really fixed them till now. Don´t get me wrong. I really like Microsoft and what they are doing. Honestly. Another related video is coming soon on the channel. Get subscribed and notified.

Do you have any feedback? What should be better? Leave a comment and I can improve on this in the future.

I’m not gonna lie, I still got it after watching this and this thing is amazing

Seriously? The number 1 reason not to buy is because it "looks outdated"? I care more about what a device does. Looking stylish is nice, but it's not a deal breaker.

Reason No. 1...outdated design!
Honestly, what would you say then for the ipad? Or any other laptop out there? Stopped watching the moment you said that.

After owning the surface pro 7 for a close to a year, I don't really see the design being an issue. To me, the design is very sleek and I believe that companies often change their designs when they find a flaw. The fact that the design hasn't been changed means that the there are extremely minimal or close to no flaws in the design. However, I agree with you that the battery life and the fan are probably the two biggest issues that microsoft needs to address for the next surface pro model.

Translation: "I have needs outside the range of this product, so you shouldn't get one. Plus, it's not as pretty as I'd like."

The only thing that really needs improvement is the battery and maybe shrink the bezels a little bit.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The design looks amazing.

Surface Design language hasn’t changed much because it’s timeless.

I’ve had a Pro 7 for about a year now. Only thing I agree about is the battery life, which has been disappointing. Otherwise, I love the device

Using pro 7 with i5 8Gb config for 6 months now.
1) the design is alright, bezels make it easier to hold and write in tablet mode.
2) really?
3) i can't comment as I don't use an i7 version

I’ve got a Surface Pro 7+ and it has no problems. Even though this video says no, I’d definitely suggest it

First problem- old design
Fix is dbrand skin
Second problem- not much battery life and has fan
Fix is plug it in and use i5 chip
Third problem- pen doesn't work and is slow and not useable
Fix is get a good amount of storage.

and just after you passed the warranty period the screen start shaking, image ghosting, overheating and phantom touch on your screen. miscrosoft should do unlimited product recall warranty for the dasign flaw.

No. 1 - Looks Outdated
RE - It is designed so that you can use the same keyboard for any other generation back to Gen 4.

No. 2 - Not "Pro"
RE - I doubt Microsoft made it to render 4K video on a single charge. As for the temperature, just because it can handle 100C does not mean is should constantly, most CPUs throttle performance at 100C as well. The i3 and i5 dont need active cooling since they can run passively and weren't meant for heavy loads.

Why did you compare this device to a macbook pro and dell xps? This is totally BS.

the battery is glued in, designed to fail, will eventually expand and take the screen with it, will become a potential fire hazard, and is impossible to repair. thanks to the deliberately shitty design of the internals, the entire device will have to be trashed in 3 to 4 years. if you want a good reason not to buy it, that's it.
pains me to say this. i love the idea of the surface pro series, but this is planned obsolescence at its worst. i have a surface pro 4 and speak from experience.

I agree that there is defiantly a display driver issue that I have seen on my surface laptop 3 and surface pro 4. Its a screen flicker that occurs when the mouse is at the top of the screen and sometimes just randomly the screen goes completely off.

this vid is stupid, i love surface pro 7 and im going to buy it with 16 gb ram and i7 processors, at least thats the one i have my eye on, .. i also like the design it's much much better than other laptops i couldn't even find a detachable laptop with the same light waight and slim design while having i7 16GB ram !! .... so im going to buy it and since you have 813 dislikes on ur video im going to be number 814 ...

I have the i5 version and was interrested in seeing an different opinion. From WHAT I read and your own review, the i7 seems to be a bad combination for this platform.

I can go through the day without any issue with mine. Drivers are fine. I drive 3 screens including the laptop's one, all from 1 usb-c cable. It gets charged, my USB keyboard/mouse and other periferals are connected through the first screen's integrated USB hub while the other screen is connected to this first screen through displayport out (mst). I use teams everyday, all day long and I've never had an issue.

I've had a Lenovo yoga x1 with an I7 (which retailed at over 3 times what this surface costs) and to be completely honest, I sent it back since this surface does everything it did better, and then some. The pen is so much better, there's no place for debate here.

I sincerely feel like you're either looking for clicks, or maybe you've got something personal against Microsoft? Overall, maybe you've got a lemon, maybe the i7 version is really just terrible.

All I can say is the i5 version is a really good value for the price. The only hiccup I had was a usb-c connection/disconnection loop (windows sound looping). I could see the USB-hub had a problem with a device and honestly didn't know what to do. Looking for answers didn't point me to anything obvious except siaabling the port, which was out of question as you might understand! I ended up rebooting (!) and voilà. It happened once more and that time disconnecting / reconnecting the usb-c cable fixed the issue. I since then updated the drivers from Microsoft website (500mb package) and fingers crossed, it didn't happen again.

all in all, a great device, especially considering the price.
