Nvidia Control Panel Best Settings for Gaming Performance | Best Settings for Nvidia Control Panel

This Updated Nvidia Control Panel Best Settings for Gaming Performance guide focuses on how to Optimize Nvidia Control Panel for the best image quality, performance and FPS that can be achieved whether you’re on a gaming laptop, high end or low end PC. Are your Nvidia control panel display settings missing, not showing or not opening? If you’re on a notebook/laptop, the Intel VGA or AMD VGA is probably responsible for the control panel display settings missing issue. I show you how to download and install the Nvidia control panel. The reason you’d want to use the Nvidia Control Panel rather than Geforce Experience to optimize your games is you can apply a different range of GPU options globally, rather than having to optimize each game in Nvidia Geforce Experience.

3D Settings for Nvidia Control Panel NVCP
This is the main section for configuring important graphics and performance-related settings on your Nvidia GPU. Here you can Adjust Image Settings With Preview; Manage 3D Settings; and Configure Surround, PhysX.

Adjust Image Settings with Preview
The options are: Let the 3D Application Decide – which reduces your ability to enhance and further control game graphics quality and performance via the NVCP. Use the Advanced 3D Image Settings – this setting allows you to greatly optimise games.

Manage 3D Settings
Any setting you change under Global Settings applies to all games and other 3D applications on your system, while those you change under Program Settings only apply to the specific game or program

Image sharpening
Turn off image sharpening and GPU scaling

Ambient Occlusion
Options are SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion), HBAO (Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion) or HDAO (High Definition Ambient Occlusion), don't force AO from the NVCP

Anisotropic Filtering
Most games will benefit from using forced 16x AF.

Antialiasing Setting
Attempting to force MSAA, or AA methods based on MSAA, such as Coverage Sampling Antialiasing (CSAA) or Multi-Frame Sampled Antialiasing (MFAA), will only work for some games.

Antialiasing Transparency
Causes performance and/or compatibility issues in most games.

CUDA GPUs
For gaming purposes, components such as PhysX physics simulations or AI processing can be GPU accelerated using CUDA to improve performance.

DSR Smoothness
This setting comes into effect when the DSR - Factors setting is enabled. GeDoSaTo (Generic DownSampling Tool) provides more options.

Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames / Low Latency Mode / Max Frame Rate
Controls the max number of frames the CPU prepares in advance. Can cause input lag.

Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA)
Provides MSAA-like Antialiasing quality at a lower performance cost.

OpenGL rendering GPU
Determines how OpenGL games and applications handle rendering when connected to multiple displays and/or if using two or more different types of Nvidia GPUs.

Shader Cache Size
The options are: Disabled, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB, 100 GB, Unlimited. I recommend either 1 GB or 5 GB.

Texture filtering Negative LOD bias
Set this to Clamp NOT Allow.

Vertical Sync / VSYNC
If you have a Gsync or Freesync monitor, turn on vsync

Other options in the NVCP include display settings which allow you to:
Change resolution, adjust desktop color settings, rotate display, rotate display, view HDCP status, set up Digital Audio, adjust desktop size and position and set up multiple displays. Other NVIDIA control panel video settings are: adjust colour settings and adjust video image settings.

Love the fact you actually explain the features. No one else seems to do this, and this video is based on quality too, whereas the others just seem to be LOWEST FORTNITE DELAY

Dude, I've been watching these control panel settings videos for YEARS, and I can say without a doubt this is the best one I have ever seen, good job seriously.

Finally! Some settings that make sense and actually make a difference. I have no real idea exactly which one made the difference, but, I just followed what you did and my PC is so much more responsive. You also explained why you set them. I have watched so many so called 'experts' set it up and I've never noticed any difference. You made a difference! Hats off to you!

This is probably the third or fourth time, maybe more, that I watch this video. The combination of this guy's voice and coolness with techy settings is something I can't resist

8:40 VERY true. Great to see you actually guide people through what they are doing, and they can just suck it up watching a 24 minute video, instead of watching a 3 minute video and spending another 15 hours working out how they fucked up everything.

I've been having awful jagged issues on all my games and this video literally saved me! My 1080ti was malfunctioning and I got a 3060 today and noticed everything else was fixed other than the graphical issues, now I can be in peace! Thanks so much. <3

I just love it how you are being an actual pc gamer (picking on minecraft, fortnite and Warzone players along with console and laptop peasents)

I can't help but smile and chuckle while configuring my Nvidia Settings. I've watched a ton of videos about this and yours is the most informative and definitely most entertaining! 24 minutes well-spent!

Wizard! I laughed heartily as I watched your more informative video than any other I have seen on NVIDIA control panel; I changed my settings; I experienced tears of joy at the AMAZING increase in visual experience of my game. I am rocking out with a 4070ti and until now, thanks to you, I do not believe I have experienced it. Awesome, Dude. Just plain WOW. You make the other NVIDIA help videos boring and a waste of time. Thanks.

While he was talking about " how to get the best setting ", I was looking at the name of each programs and games on the left of screen lol.
But nice tutorial. keep it up👍

I watched your video and I went from getting 90 frames in escape from tarkov to getting 120-130. Subbed.

Nvidia interns have updated the application and options available in the Nvidia Control Panel. If possible, could we get an updated version of the video?

After learning about how max fps in the CP causes more latency than other 3rd party or in game fps limiters, my stuttering issues have been completely resolved. God bless this video.

Welcome...
I found the video "The Ugly Truth of Nvidia Control Panel Optimization Guides" which I find interesting.
Does Nvidia Control Panel Optimization Really Reduce Frame Rate + what do you think ?
If Performance Mode and Optimization Mode cause frame drops, should I set the default mode?

Sorry and thank you

I've never had this much fun learning about my computer than I have watching your video.
Thanks 👍
