RTSS has an inbuilt Reflex for non Reflex games.
Setup > Enable frame limiter and select Reflex in the drop bar.
The game will then auto lock FPS as if Reflex were enabled in game.

One thing to note is if you're already using frame limiters like RTSS (RivaTuner) to limit your FPS below your monitor's refresh rate, having the VSync off will only introduce input lags and thus should be always kept off regardless of your gpu.

The guideline should be:

FreeSync and RTSS cap below refresh rate? = VSync off
FreeSync without FPS capping? = VSync on

Umm Nvidia Reflex does not automatically cap your frames. And what it should be set to (On or Boost) is dependent on where you’re bottlenecked..

Tbh easy to understand and ty for helping with the capping fps

my gpu went from 100 percent to 81percent great video.

I honestly got lost here.. All I understood was turn this on, turn this off, turn this on, and finally turn this off… 🙁

6:00 Is it better to do this or use blurbusters recommendation of 3fps below refresh rate?

For example, on a 144hz display, should you:
1. Cap fps at 138? (according to the chart)
2. Cap fps at 141? (According to blurbusters)

Which is better?

Thx for the info, ,
but can u update or make a whole new video for all optimization, , cuz in older one about profile inspector we played with some setting about vsync n gsync, , so am kinda lost😅😅

Nice one Panjno. This helped me loads!

Panjno, thanks for the guide but I have some confusion about it even I did watch some of your previous video. AMD GPU user here.
1) I thought if we have G-Sync/FreeSync, we do not need to turn on Vsync since the former is better?👀
Does it cause any conflict if turn on both together?
2) Capping FPS, I remember we can just cap it 2-3 FPS below the monitor refresh rate? This time the one you showed, some of them are 3, 7 or more FPS difference..
3) Framerate Limiter, I remember you suggest use the Nvidia/AMD software to do it, otherwise use RTSS is better than the rest of the method, also avoid using in-game one?

In some cases, changing refresh display rate can help. In Battlefield I had a issue, the fps was dropped and game lost on fluency (Freesync - ON). Display had 165Hz and fps was setting on 60.
Change from 165Hz to 120Hz (60fps), solved the problem.

Great video Panjno!. Ive a question. You said that Ultra low latency limits the FPS automatically. But after that, you said to limit the FPS with NCP or RTSS, etc. Does not redundant doing that?

Thanks!

Panjo thanks for the hard work mate keep it up ^^
M a lot confused about valorant, should i use it or no ? many ppl told me to not use it, i really appreciate ur work and i hope u answer me
Thanks a lot

Quick question, If I may. I’m currently overdriving my 240hz monitor all the way up to a blazing fast 241hz (🔥), would my FPS limit be 225 or 226?

And just as an example if it were a wider gap, say over locked to 270hz, would you take it from the overclocked 270hz or from the native 240hz?

I’m a newb, so if any of that doesn’t quite make sense don’t be too mean on the new guy 😩

Great guide as always. Just to sum it up..
I use a 144hz Freesync monitor with and GTX 1660, should I turn on V-Sync, and LowLatency mode to ultra and just turn V-Sync Off in any game? Is that correct?
Because many other guides suggest V-Sync completely off, even in the Nvidia Control panel.

Hey man! Saw you doing a bit of testing in Infinite I always was told gysync etc wasn't best for comp games but it looked really good was I given misinformation on the topic?

Doesn't GSYNC / Vsync introduce input latency though? Not sure this is really the best solution for lowest latency if you get good fps.
