This is so true. I got to a 60+kg pull up and 95kg weighted dip, yet 8 still had this bad habit creeping in here and there. Such a simple yet powerful message! Scapula positioning is EVERYTHING.

Yeah, I used to do that without noticing it and always had neck problems, Now That I do everything makinh sure of having perfect form I have no more pain, This makes sense, Pity Didnt see this 8 months ago

It's actually important to keep your back straight.
First, it helps to stay healthy,
and second, it helps you to do excersizes more usefully and right.

Would have been nice to hear some tips and cues on how not to shrug. Working out is definitely much harder than it looks. So many muscles to remember at the same time so these simple cues are vital for nailing the form.

excellent tip. I see in gyms most of the people shrug when they do these exercises (and others). I guess it's a natural compensation for weaker muscles. the bottom line is: one has to perform the correct movement even if this means lower weights, or lower repetitions.
