As a Ukrainian, I have this to say: We only stand against those who are against us. Nobody chooses to be Russian or Ukrainian, but you do choose what you believe.

Fun fact: In russia, in schools kids are told that WWII was USSR against the whole world. No one mentions allies or lend-lease.

Stalin was Georgian, not Russian. Ironic how so many Russians admire him, yet Russia has taken parts of Georgia which has been an independent nation since the end of the Soviet Union.

Well, I am Russian. I am against the war in Ukraine and I acknowledge how bad the USSR was. There is one more thing, I never trust any social study conducted in Russia. In a country, where there is no freedom of speech and you can literally go to jail for just passing by the wrong place, it is impossible to conduct any social study. You can’t say what you think and results that do not go along with propaganda can’t be published without any retaliation from the police. They even have special units for that. These special units follow orders of their superiors with zeal and mostly consist of sadists and tormentors.

I'm not gonna be surprised if this video is gonna soon be blocked in my country (Russia). But to be real, most Russians see Ukraine as brother country, because almost everyone have atleast 1 relative in there. I have basically relatives almost all around the world (I'm serious, I was surprised the first time I heard that have relatives outside of Russia and Ukraine)
And yeah, young people in Russia (like me, 16) can see the full picture, because we haven't lived for several decades like many others, our brains and minds are still in building process. We, most of young people, have easier time to accept something like that, because it doesn't really go against some hard belief, it just goes against what we've heard. Unlike with most of older Russians, who have a deep hard wired beliefs

I'm Russian but have been living in New Zealand for over two years. I agree with most of the things mentioned in the video but I do believe the percentage of people who DO NOT support the war is way higher. People in Russia (myself included) no longer believe in "independent surveys". I know from my friend and family that not many people agree to participate in them. In other words, 75% who support the war and 25% who don't represent 10 or 15% of the population who took part in the survey. It's undoubtedly the government wants that it has gained the approval of its people. The worst thing is that the outer world sees it as a crime of the nation, not just one dictator with its army.

My boss is Russian. I started working for him just before the war began. It's been insightful getting his perspective and opinion on the Ukrainian war

I'm Russian living in Ukraine at tрe moment, and I feel so bad about the war. I hate what Putin does, so many lives and relationships are gone because of him. I'm planning to go to Russia after the whole thing ends. I hope I'm not the only one like this. :)

In Chechnya a memorial was erected to honour the tens of millions who were taken and perished in Stalins work camps. After the Chechen war Russia came and destroyed it.. Russian history gets as cleansed like those people never happened.
