I enjoyed your review very much. You made quite a point that the C40 feels solid and well-bolted together, something that other reviewers don't mention or just gloss over. I had the same impression when I test-drove a C40 (which I subsequently ordered). I had previously driven a VW ID.4 and Hyundai IONIC5, which did not impart quite the same sensation. That characteristic of the C40 is both satisfying and assuring.

I'd like to make a couple of points about the one-pedal driving. I may have missed it but viewers should know that it can turned off, and when on (unlike some other EVs) it is not adjustable. Regarding non-adjustability, I found it very similar to the regenerative braking on my BMW i3, which I've had for the last five years. For me, the regenerative braking on the i3 is perfect (and if fact cannot be turned off), so I don't expect to miss adjustability on the C40.

If the one-pedal driving is turned off the car merely coasts when pressure on the accelerator pedal is reduced or released. When brakes are applied, however, regenerative braking is used to slow the car (imparting the same feel as does friction braking on a petrol car). Of course, friction braking is applied as well when the brake pedal is depressed sharply in an emergency situation. Volvo refers to this as "blended braking". Some C40 (and XC40 Recharge) owners prefer to turn one-pedal driving off when driving on highways and on in-town.

The 2 spoilers on the roof help hide the hinges for the trunk, , moving them up the max height.

Great video, thank you. I have one on order (since March); I'm hoping it will arrive next month. I also test drove the Ioniq 5, the ID.4 and the Mustang Mach E before ordering the Volvo. It just felt more high quality. Can't wait to see it on my drive! And really looking forward to that acceleration...

Great video. I've had my C40 for 2 weeks now and I love it. It's fun to drive, is very comfortable and the acceleration can be addictive. 😊 The one pedal driving is a great feature and I got used to it in about a day.

This Volvo C40 has a steering wheel vibration very bad when you drive 65 mph, Felt UNSAFE to drive, especially at high speeds. @Volvo, If you have a defective product, you need to take care of it, you know this is not the only one.

At this price point it's competing with the Mercedes EQB and the Cadillac Lyriq. Going to be tough for Volvo, especially with the cheap looking interior.

Interesting - can't believe that the lack of a roof sunshade was the only thing you didn't like. Sounded a bit too much like a Volvo marketing video.
