I really hope all of you realize back in time, this is all you could do to break a horse. You couldn't spend hours, days, or weeks gaining a horses trust, or else you'd be left behind. It may not be pretty, but it works and this is how a lot of horses you have ridden were trained

Ya ateeh Homies. Great video, it is halarious, it reminded me of home and my younger days. I use to do the exact same thing riding young colts when I was just a teen and then use those horses for cattle roundup or sheep herding. Imagine this...you had the skill to correct your specs all the while the horse is bucking, and still manage to stay on.

I did that with my stud horse, and you know what he did when I got on his back? He stood there. He had never been rode before, I just got a stool n got up there. So don't bash other's ways. You've probably never rode a greenbroke horse before let alone a wild one. You think you can sweet talk a wild horse? No, they would treat you as a lower horse push you around and bite you. you know why my horse respects me? Cause the first time he bit me I slapped his muzzle, and he hasn't bit me since then.

This is pry one of the best ways to break a horse in, not hog tying them :) Why, the person can't break the horses legs like they can with all that rope, and also it gives the horse and rider a chance to bond, because sooner or later the horse will see the rider is not going to hurt it and well pretty much gives in willingly, from past experience, this is the best way to win a horse in~

I have riden tough horses before and yeah I think sometimes it can work. I do what you did and giving a little hit on the nose when they bit but the "im gonna scare the crap out of the horse till it stops" isnt going to work ethier. it really depends on the horse some horses need a calm and gentel aproch where others need a little bit of a "I'm the boss" kind of aproch.

@wayoftheblade, actually the right way has also been done for thousands of years. This is pure horsemanshit.

this is still how my family and community 'break' our horses. We stick to our traditions.

@wayoftheblade It was done for thousands of years this way because people didn't know any better. There are much more humane ways to train a horse without the use of the old "breaking" method of slapping the horse around and yanking on it's mouth.
