Taming a wild horse

When we submit to the hand of Jesus, he helps us say goodbye to our wild, rebellious ways. And he introduces us to a new way of living under the control of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" (Matt. 5:5)

There are better ways, mate. Granted, they'll take a little longer, but you'll have a horse that can be trusted and trusts in you when thru.

Stop forcing him to do something! He’s a wild animal!

Wild doesn't mean you need to be abusive. You should see how other cultures tame horses, cruelty not needed.

He's learning a new kind of abuse.

Oh yes because trust starts with putting a rope on your horse and not just being slow and gentle with them

If he trusted you, you would have been able to get him to lay down without having to use tools.

You are unnecessarily heavy handed, lots of easier ways to win a horse over

I am not a horse expert nor an expert on breaking wild horses. But, all I can say is if ever the methods used also breaks the horses spirit, then I am against that method! There has to be a better way, where a horse can keep it's spirit and dignity as one of the most beautiful animals! I don't know all the ways native Americans broke their horses, but I know they as a general rule had great respect for the animal. I have seen where they would lead an untamed horse into water that was deep enough to deter the horse from thrashing too much. Seems to me that that was a more agreeable way for both horse and rider. Bottom line, I have no use for anyone who wants to dominate a horse. Partner with a horse with respect, yes. But dominate a horse, no.

And this is a perfect example of a horse shutting down...ready for the "lion" to eat him.

Absolutely pathetic, no room for this on a public forum

I'm assuming this was made decades ago. Nobody breaks a horse like this anymore. You aren't commanding the attention of the horse, nor are you reducing the fight or flight response. You are simply tiring the horse out, then parading around their exhaustion as them being quiet and trusting. At the end, you will have a horse that submits out of fear and would bolt at the first opportunity
Is that the message you want to send about Jesus? That he beats and tires us out, and misinterprets our fear and exhaustion as submission and love?

2021 we don't break horses anymore We don't disable them with ropes and then pretend we're being nice to them We're letting them join up Follow us when they're ready and then let us lead through through trust

Just no. Please, sir, keep educating yourself! If you care about animals, other people, and any children who may be in your life. It is a learning curve, that is well worth it to bring yourself to kindness, respect, and understanding. You'll become a different person, one that hopefully you will also treat kindly, respectfully, and with gentle understanding. Wishing you well.

People commenting that this method doesn’t hurt the horse obviously don’t have eyes are just thing horses are made of stone. No they’re flesh and blood just like any other creature. The struggle that is going on certainly is putting stress on the muscles as well as how the body is contorting which you can see. The rope is also digging into the horse. Also horses FACE is being smushed onto the ground. Also not how the horse collapses from exhaustion and how the horse tries to fight back by trying to kick the guy. The horse is having an altogether very unpleasant experience.

There are much better non abusive ways to train a horse. You have to first earn their trust before you try anything.

Just cause it’s wild doesn’t mean you need to abuse it and take away it’s ability to walk your forcing it to like you

“Hes quiet and he’s trusting us” ya that quietness is when a horse just gives up fighting bc they can’t fight anymore. Its the same exact thing that happens when a horse knows they can’t win against a predator they just give up. That’s not trust my guy that’s abuse. Not only mental/emotional abuse but physical too bc horses can’t put all their weight on one front leg for a long time when u a big animal that shit starts to hurt things like the joints. And ropes? That horse feels so trapped and that horse can get seriously injured. A rope that’s connected to the leg could get caught on somthing OOPS horse spooks and bam broken leg and prob neck too from not being able to catch it’s self bc u tied the rope to the belly. There are soooo many better ways to get a horse to trust people that keeps the horses happy

You don't tame nor. break a horse, you have to build a trust and friendship. Horses are not a piece of furniture that you own. They are very smart creatures and bigger than you❤❤❤❤❤❤

interesting that this video was used in the context of gods love i am both a believer in christ and a horse trainer the horse in the video was not gently handled until he submitted he was intimidated and restrained until he gave up now this method works for training horses for sure but you loose a part of the horses mind you get a very compliant horse but hes not truly your friend i use a method that talks to the horse in a way he understands i dont force a horse to submit like the man in the video did as to submitting to god he dose not restrict us and force us to submit he talks to us in ways that we understand and god is gentle not like the man in the video i have been in church's that try to restrict you and force you into a mold but this is not how god truly works in my opinion again i will say i am not slamming this horseman he clearly knows his method but to me hes breaking that horse not taming it
