I feel like people will take this seriously and get mad about it because on the internet there is no room for humour

I love spicy food, but sometimes i want my fish to taste like fish and egg to taste like egg. There is nothing wrong with that.

I know this video is ironic, but honestly the entire "if you don't put 100 different spices in your food you don't like flavour" narrative needs to stop.

What, no fenugreek? No wonder it's bland.

People who say British people don't use spices unironically have never seen a British household or half our meal options in restraunts.

Yeah, people do the Brits dirty. Like, japanese cuisine has not much spice either yet I don't see people complaining

honestly though I love making scrambled egg with garlic, cumin, and some kind of chilli powder
But yeah completely agree w this video lmao. “”Plain”” food gets dunked on too much, sometimes simple is the best way to let the ingredients shine. And besides using the same 7 spices in every meal gets boring very very quick

People need to realise the power of herbs. They are just as good as spices.

Spices and herbs can ramp up a dish but some people think you always need a lot of them. Making a tomato sauce? Just stick to Oregano and Basil. Making an omelet? Just put a light shake of cayenne on it. Some dishes benefit from a lot of spices but many only need a bit to shine.

We only took all the spices so we could sell them on. As Doctor Green said, "Don't get high on your own supply."

Not every food needs to have depths of flavour and spices. Sometimes I crave something mild and ‘bland’, like porridge with a bit of honey, or just plain old white bread and salted butter.

Things like Yorkshire Puddings or Chips, absolutely do not need extra spices. Traditional Japanese food doesn’t use many, but y’all will eat it up and say how great and exotic it tastes. Blood sausage is a common dish in Korea, but over there it’s a delicacy but in the UK it’s foul and disgusting.

I’m not gonna add Turmeric or 5 spice blend into my homemade Cottage Pie, either. Cry about it.

Yup. I'm Puerto Rican, and I can't imagine making pollo guisado without half my pantry of spices and herbs. But I also can't imagine putting anything more than a pinch of salt on fried plantains. Not every single dish needs ALL the spices.

The British "robbed the world of spices"... to sell them for literal boatloads of gold.

No but honestly, fish and chips is better if you use spices in the batter.

You can't tell me you spice your food if all you use is MSG packets pretending to be spices.
