"People don't quit jobs they quit managers" . So true!

People decided to wake up and realize they are sick and tired of taking abuse for a wage. If I cut my lifestyle to bare bones, I wouldn't need the toxic job I think I needed.

I'm retirement age, 66, and had planned on working until I was 70. And due to the pandemic, I was sent home to work. In the past two months, the company I worked for became so toxic and stressful, I decided to quit early. I was having nightmare, depression and fatigue. I made the right decision. More relaxed, comfortable and peaceful. I made the right decision. Although my income has dropped 75%, it was the right decision. I can live minimally AND IN PEACE.

Lazy supervisors, moron coworkers, low value humans at the workplace, tattlers, HR having too much influence, etc. are killing the workplace environment.

I’m part of the Great Resignation. 36 people in my team, including myself, quit at the same time. And we traded a crappy company with crappy management to a great company where people development and internal promotions are priority, the pay is much higher, and we get to work from home permanently, like forever! One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I quit after 3 years because I was doing the job of 3 people and nobody was there to help me. I had to work during lunch, + overtime, including weekends. The "temporary OT" became a permanent thing that boss assumed as "normal". I tried to reason with boss many times but he said he could not afford to find someone else, and it was tough to find workers during the pandemic.
So I left. A few days ago I found out that they hired 4 people in the course of 3 months, and all of them quit. LOL
All I needed was help and proper OT compensation. Bad bosses are the reason why businesses struggle to grow.

The pandemic sparked a massive spiritual awakening among young adults. They beginning to wonder what's the meaning at the end of this everything. You born alone & die alone, in between you run a race which doesn't mean anything at the end. At the end all these accumulations like money, wealth, designations, titles are simply illusions & you will carry nothing. I think young adults wanted to experience life by doing something they like, something they can enjoy, something they have passion towards and not to waste it been slaves and running an endless race like their previous generations.

I quit my job last month and have a bridge job right now. My plan is to start my own business. I’m done having to get my every move approved by some incompetent supervisor. Having to ask someone for permission to take a day off, or go to a doctor appointment, is just not something I feel like I should have to do.

My big complaint was that my boss forced us to come in 5 days a week but he only came in 3 days a week. Then the company had the audacity to give everyone a 1% raise. Hypocrisy and stagnation is a breeding ground for resignation.

I just quit the restaurant business after 21 years as a line cook. No more dealing with nasty managers, no more nasty wait staff, no more nasty customers, no more crazy hours with low pay without any benefits. Now, I work at a warehouse from Sunday-Wednesdays 7AM-5PM, great benefits, much better pay, have a life again.

My advice is always have another job lined up first before quitting, unless it’s really that bad.

It’s crazy to see employers lose all of their leverage but it’s great for employees! Great video!

Some folks are also quitting because they had time to do other things in their lives and are no longer interested in trading time for meaningless work that doesn't interest them just for a pay check. People want to do work that has a purpose to them, or start working for themselves to reach their own goals rather than some company helping them reach theirs.

No job is worth my mental health.
That's my takeaway from 2020 for the rest of my life.

back to back lockdowns gave us a lot of time to self reflect and realize what we actually want in terms of a job. I think it's easier to quit once you're confident your job isn't giving you what you need.

My family could hear my narcissistic boss shouting at me over MS Teams because I was working from home. When my family were commenting on my boss's behaviour, it was like confirmation that the way I was being spoken to was inappropriate and unacceptable. I tolerated it while I was in the office and told myself I was oversensitive. My family wouldn't have known how badly I was being treated but during the pandemic, they heard it with their own ears.

Maybe these companies that can't find workers need to spend some time working on improving their working environment. I have very limited sympathy for them, places that operate like a working prison need to rethink why people don't want to work there.

I quit my job 2 weeks ago... I did quit with no money to pad my ass but it was killing my mental health + overall health. I didn't feel safe + respected. I was mocked + treated with such indifference + at times given crumbs of disingenuous compliments. I was having suicidal thoughts.

Technically I’m still on the payroll because I’m using up my paid vacation. I had to resign because I’m doing 3 people’s work. Communication is really bad and for some reason the second in command has never really liked me. I know “gossip”. Twice when I put my resignation in several other employees would put theirs in. I’m hoping to find a place that will see my value and not just a body to fill a slot.
