You have to move jobs every three years because most companies won't give you a raise these days.

As someone in their current role for 20 + years, he made some legitimate comments, especially about being "stale".

I always felt the need to leave jobs at around 2.5 years. Then I had my own business.
Definitely don’t get stuck in any JOB. Go for a life vocation. Something that feels worth it everyday

This is the kind of person that is worth interviewing to. Real value here...not immature people complaining about how difficult and unfair life is! ❤

I thought I was the only one who thought like him! When I was a teenager every adult told me it doesn’t look good jumping from one job to another!

That's been my issue! About every 3 years I get VERY bored of any job. The issue is, I went to school for one thing. I did that thing for 10 years until I couldn't take it anymore, started working from home doing something else which was awesome...for about 3 years. Hard to make lateral or upward moves without advanced education and/or connections.

This is true. I've been in a job for 8 years and hate it. But I'm also studying for my doctorate. With that said, I still want out!

Consider your pension if your company offers one. Usually it takes five years to be vested in a pension. Take advantage of it if you can. Its a reward of longevity.

That's my argument for term limits for, people in Congress, federal judges, supreme court judges!! I've often said, you become ', stale', resistant to change!!! I mean, you've got folks who have been in office 20 or more years!! You think they are willing to change the "way they've always done things"⁉️💯

I agree. I never stayed in a job for more than 2yrs lol. It does get stale. But I guess some people can't just leave because of responsibilities. I don't know how people can stay for more than 5 yrs. People should always find something that would let them have growth.

Being surrounded by great people, is well great. I do recommend changing jobs around the 8 year mark.

I just found your channel and skip Ober most of these shorts with the "question on the street". Yours is so much more. Best of luck with it and please keep on. It is inspirational.

I love this CEO's advice that you should never stay at a company more than 3 years bc it's TRUE! Most employees learn almost everything they need to learn about a company and master their role in 1 years' time. Wish more leaders would be candid instead spewing corporate-y BS like 'lOyaLtY mAtTeRs!"
