Intro
Chronic Kidney Disease is when your kidneys become damaged and lose their ability to filter waste and fluid out of your blood.
Chronic kidney disease is a long-term condition affecting around 37 million adults in the US alone. But most people don't know that they have it because it doesn’t usually cause any problems until it reaches an advanced stage.

Basic functions of kidneys:
1. They filter the blood to get rid of waste products of metabolism.
2. The kidneys keep the electrolytes (sodium and potassium being the most important) and water content of the body constant.
3. They secrete a number of essential hormones which are important for the normal functioning of the body. One such hormone is renin, which keeps blood pressure normal.

Signs of kidney disease presented on the skin include:
1. Swollen ankles, feet, or hands
2. Itchy skin
3. Extremely dry skin
4. Rash
5. Blisters
6. Nail colour changes
7. Calcium deposits under the skin
8. A lump on your belly
