How to Change Windows 7 Starter Edition Wallpaper

"(For those that got the black screen of death) : So to fix this, right click the Desktop folder in regedit and select Permissions. Then make sure Everybody is highlighted and check the box that says Allow, Full Control. After this, you will be able to change the contents of the Wallpaper key like before. After editing them, open the Permissions again and uncheck the Full Control box so that it looks like it did before. If you don't do this, the contents of the key will be deleted when you log off/restart and you will get a black background. (Hope this helped)"

Hey guys, just for those who's screens went black mine did too but I risked it and had a play around and managed to achieve changing it. I went back into the control screen and right clicked on desktop and clicked permissions. I then changed the box at the bottom to allow "full control" and clicked ok. Then go back and click on wallpaper and do the same process as before ( make sure you use the slash key going the same way as the others this may have been the problem when typing the picture name ) so after pasting it into the box click ok and then go back to desktop and right click, permissions again and untick full control and click ok, now exit and restart your Comp, worked for me 😉

for those who are wondering on how to change the wallpaper again, just click permissions again and go to advanced settings then recheck the one you unchecked then click apply then click ok then chaange the link to the picture :D

Omg thank you! It worked! Guys if you tried it and the screen was black just retry! Mine went black at first but I tried again and it worked. I think I missed a step on my first try! GOOD LUCK!

I followed the steps and it worked perfectly. Make sure you use the backwards slash. If your screen goes black you could try restoring your computer by one day and that might fix it.

But before, I got black screen too. For those who got black screen, follow the instructions in the description and then place the image you want in the "Sample Image" folder and then just turn off your computer. I first restarted it but the screen still was black.
