Hi my name is Danielle, welcome to my True Crime and Makeup series! I’ve been interested in true crime for the longest time now, what started with me watching true crime on TV with my Nan from a young age eventually turned into studying for a degree in Law & Criminology.

When I first watched Bailey Sarian’s series I was completely hooked, I loved how she had combined two of the things I’m most passionate about and delivered it so well. She totally inspired me to take the leap and do the same thing on my channel, so all credit for the idea goes 100% to her.

I’m from the UK and will be covering cases from both the UK and internationally, let me know if there are any cases that you’d like to see from me! More cases will be coming soon so please subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

The fact that you’ll get thrown into a psych ward for admitting thoughts of suicide to a therapist but not for admitting thoughts of *homicide* is astonishing to me

I truly believe, him telling everyone, was his way of begging for help. And nobody helped him. Nobody. This could have been prevented, he didn't do anything for years, until he probably realized they weren't going to help him.

The casualness of his voice when he said "nothing personal" after describing how he would kill the detective in such graphic way sent literal chills down my spine

It always bothers me when killers seek help for their problems but the therapist turns the other way.

The whole “let’s blame this on heavy metal and call of duty” thing people always say drives me INSANE I’m so happy Danielle is so passionate about pointing out how absurdly stupid that argument is.

I appreciate the care and emphasis you put on who Claudia and Chip were, the victims are always more than how they died

“I want to hurt people but I don’t want to want that” - this just breaks my heart. I wish to heaven above that we lived in a world where compassionate healthcare and harm reduction are prioritized. We have to stop just throwing people away. I’m not saying anything this young man did was okay or siding with him at all. I’m wishing for a world of actual HELP being given to those who need it, want it, cry for it…

The last time Danielle mentioned her partner in a video she called him her boyfriend. This time she called him her husband :) congratulations Danielle!

I was an abused child and I never ever agree that it is an excuse to hurt anyone. If anything my experience made me far more sensitive and compassionate to others and my strength to protect and to nurture. So fortunate I was to be a father of four amazing sons and I used my parents unfortunate lessons to show what is right and true. Now they are in their thirties and doing so very well and yes I have equally stable happy grandchildren! That is how you turn tragedy into triumph. Thank you for your excellent videos.

This case is horrifying and creepy, but I got to admit, the "nothing personal" did make me laugh a bit

His therapist and his school councillor really let him down, he was so open and explicit with his violent fantasies, yet no one took the measures needed.

What’s even more disgusting is that Daniel received applause for his horrific deeds and the innocent grandson was shunned for something he didn’t do !

He was failed by the system, and his psych professionals are partially responsible for what he did. He told the adults what he was struggling with and they did nothing.

I’m just sad that this boy, who was clearly so self aware and trying so hard to get someone to help him was failed…

Sometimes, in these situations, I feel like the perpetrators are not the only ones who are guilty. Every single person he confessed these feelings to are almost just as guilty as he is! I know there are rules that have to be followed with mental health professionals, but his friends, family, and teachers could have ALL brought their concerns forward! This honestly just breaks my heart! He deserved better, and so did all of his victims!

We, as therapists, have a thing called "duty to warn" if the client makes threats toward a specific person we advise the person of the threat made against them. It is one of the only times that we break confidentiality.
If he was making general statements that he was homicidal the therapist should have referred him to a higher level of care like hospitalization. The problem is that it is very hard to keep people as long as they need because insurance companies suck.

I used to have intrusive thoughts about killing myself and it was just like that. Everywhere I looked was a way to die. I can’t imagine feeling that way about others. Thank God after a decade I found medication. For me it started around 10 as well. You never know what’s going on in someone’s head. I wonder where he would’ve been if he got the treatment and medication he needed at a young age

Thank you for clarifying the whole Slipknot thing.. my boyfriend & I definitely don’t want to kill people just because we’re huge fans of them 😂😭

I grew up with my grandparents and thru the church (1980's) we took in a man that had been bashed on the head and had his car stolen. He lived with us for several months and it was so hard to watch him struggle with amnesia. Finally, through a newspaper article his family saw...he was reunited with them. The last I heard, he still hadn't recovered his memories but he did 'take to' his wife and they started from scratch, building a new relationship all over. He still knew skills. He could play piano, card games, could fly a plane and had the brilliant mind of an engineer (later we found out he had been in the military). Just no memories of his personal life. I think of "john" (as in john doe) often still to this day...he was such a kind, gentle man. 🧔

When you showed the picture of his first victims, my heart dropped. Just a sweet innocent old couple, that didn't do jack squat to him, and he took their lives. I can't imagine the phone call to the family.

As someone who went to the psych ward 3 times, the most likely reason he was let out so early is that stays at the psych ward are only meant for 2 weeks at most. The insurance usually doesn’t cover more than that. What he should have been placed in was day treatment. They stay there for up to a year, basically live and get schooling there until they are ready to go home. I think they failed in general, but unless you are in the psych ward repeatedly, they don’t put you in day treatment
