There's so much awesome CGI around. The 'problem' is that it's so awesome and immersive that you don't notice it's there. So deliciously subtle 😁😃

I'm quite impressed to learn the rain was CGI in the last one. I live in Seattle and am quite familiar with rain as well as driving in it. That whole scene was exceptionally well done indeed because I had no clue and there's generally some indication. I'll have to give it a rewatch soon.

Nic cage is absolutely mad when it comes to potraying unhinged characters and I love it. I recently rewatched Mandy and Pig to witness his mad genius when it comes to acting his gut out for his movies.

Whilst they got rid of the piston from truck flip Why oh why did they not get rid of vapour from pneumatic discharge of the piston which gave it away?

I feel like low quality or excessive cgi is just a form of extending the art beyond what is physically possible. And if it doesn’t look like it’s up to our standards as an audience, then that means that we are simply not suspending our disbelief enough to truly get immersed in these stories. I’m not trying to say everyone should share my opinion I just enjoy watching films and tv through 2 lenses: suspending my disbelief fully to better understand the story being told, and 2: trying to imagine the story through the eyes of the creative teams who crafted it. And dwell on what they were trying to portray and understanding that this final product im viewing (whether it was how they intended this story to be executed or not) is the final product. This mindset has made some step back reevaluate my standard for good and bad Media which in turn gave me an appreciation for everything modern day media writes off as “bad” or “low effort”

Robert Pattinson's abs were clearly cg in "The Batman".

Probably the biggest use of CG in a Fincher joint is Mindhunter. You'd never know, and it's for ridiculous OCD reasons

I auditioned the actor that played Sam Rockwell's double in Moon. He was a great English actor but I didn't cast him. There are two Sam Rockwells in that if you haven't seen it. It's like the Social Network thing.

The reversed raindrops on Antonio Banderas' face in The 13th Warrior

There's a scene where he's standing in the rain, and the camera pans from (IIRC) Right to left. The director decided it would look better if it panned from left to right. No problem, just run the film backwards, right? Wrong, because the raindrops are now running UP Banderas' face. So they had to CGI the raindrops to go the right way during the shot.

Nick Cage is method. I think the abs may have been enhanced but I do believe he worked out for his body as his face matches.

Tattoo removal is quite a common use of CGI. But some of the best use of it is in Mad Max: Fury Road where it was used to change the background of the location shots. It is so well done most people didn't even realise.

My guess is that the filming for Mission impossible was just to keep Tom Cruise about the same height as the rest of the actors?
