9 Forgotten Killer Robots And Mecha B-Films – Cheesy But Super-Fun!

Since the early years of cinema, even before coining of the term “robot”, movies have always wanted to showcase them in one way or another. They symbolize viewers’ neuroses, queasiness regarding technology, and serve as the unknown. They make humans wonder what the future holds and what the world would be like without humans, and whether they’re replaceable or not. This video answers some of these questions by showing a few epic killer robots and mecha B-films that aren’t within the radar of mainstream media and viewers but are tonnes of fun.

This takes me back to the days of walking up and down the aisles of Blockbuster and West Coast Video, readling the descriptions on VHS tapes.

Death Machine was epic when I first watched it at 10. Still holds up today strangely.

Robot Jox,

I have literally been trying to find this movie for years. All I could remember was the fighting robots and the line about vodka tasting like blood.

Thanks so much guys, earned a sub today.

Jesus, Gunhed...

I watched that 25 years or so ago, completely forgot about it. One of those rental choices made because the video case looked awesome.

"Robot jocks" and "Robot wars" when you can't afford the rights to Battletech but still want to make a Battletech movie.

I'm surprised Chopping Mall (1986) wasn't included in this list.

I remember watching Class of 1999 when I was a kid. It scared the living daylights out of me. That was a time when that HBO would play subversive movies late at night on the weekends. Some of the best days ever. They don't make them like that anymore.

I loved this video. I enjoyed every second of it. I will surely watch out for these movies should I ever come across them. Great job with this video. It was a good one.
