1. Click Multilevel List in the Paragraph group, and then choose Define New Multilevel List.
2. Choose the list level 1 to modify
3. Clear any text in the "Enter formatting for number" box.
4. Choose any number style from the "Number Style for this level" box.
5. Choose the parent level number from "INCLUDE LEVEL NUMBER FROM", While creating a subordinate level. e.g. If subordinate level is 2 then from "INCLUDE LEVEL NUMBER FROM" choose parent level number 1.
6. Choose the appropriate value for "Number Aligned at".
7. Choose the appropriate value for "Text Indent".
8. Click OK to save all your settings.
After creating a Multi-level numbering list, Position the cursor at the beginning of a line and press Tab key to increase the level or press Shift + Tab key to decrease the level.
