Guten Abend. I'm 69 and have never had any ability with languages. However, in recent years I have forced myself to the stage where I can hold a simple conversation in Italian. Last month I went to Prague and for the six weeks prior to the trip I crammed Czech and it made Italian seem simple by comparison. However, what I was able to learn made the trip much more enjoyable. I'm going to Mainz near Frankfurt in February so am now concentrating on German and am finding it easy to progress. I have found that dipping into the country's history and geography (and food) also helps,

gute nacht, this is my first german video where i've taken some notes, & my motivation is because last year i became friends with a german girl through her foreign exchange year. it was only basically 1 month of being friends before the year was over, & within that short period of time she taught me the colors, numbers, and the days of the week, in which i only remember schwarz, einz, dwei, and some other numbers, and montag 🥲 hopefully i learn somewhat and stay consistent, this will be my 5th language im going to try to learn. my 3rd language im learning is spanish in which i can understand a good amount & my pronunciation is good (self-taught). french is my 4th, where i know some words but can't speak it (through school). so german will now be my next goal alongside spanish & french.

I was recently forced to leave Germany even though I’m married to a German, I’m from the uk, Brandenburg immigration made me leave and the reason was I didn’t have my A1. We have since relocated to within the Berlin borders (Berlin does not require A1) but still, I want to learn… I took the A1 test online having only had 4 weeks to prepare for test, not surprisingly I failed but did pass half of the sections. This time without the stress im in a much better place, thank you for making these lessons free ☮️
