This is far more terrifying because these people don't know what's going on.

I'm sure Fury knows, and maybe put it together in the end, but imagine you're at a family dinner and everyone suddenly turns to dust but you.

Imagine being a passenger in a helicopter, and your pilot vanishes.

Far more people died than just those that got snapped.

Imagine just the vehicular casualties, on millions of cities, on millions of planets.

This isn't just happening on Earth. We know for a fact there is life on other planets in the MCU. It makes the kill count all the more impressive.

It makes Thanos a villain they'll never top.

Yes. They were brought back, but Thanos murdered TRILLIONS.
