At ultrahigh magnification you'll also see that at the tip of each point of the laser etched crown Rolex have etched the word "sucker" on their steel sports range.

Always love Richemont’s backhanded complements of Rolex

The etched “S” under the crown was dropped recently. My submariner which has recently gone to RSC for a replacement crystal due to a heavy scratch didn’t have the S on the new crystal, and I have confirmed with RSC staff about that

The first maker to integrate an almost invisible identifier into their watches was Abraham Louis Breguet. His ‘secret signature’, first used in 1795, was etched into the dial and is almost impossible to see unless you know where to find it.

Great series of videos.

The camera work and narration/Voice over are just amazing.

5:28 Why would the lugs need to be uneven on the steel but not precious metal pieces? Surely the optical balance is the same on both...

"once you've seen it, you can't unsee it, sorry", thanks for that, it's very true. To get everything in house just acquire all the suppliers, makes sense I guess without having to go through all that tedium of understanding and training.

As ever an excellent discussion. I second a request that I have seen-can we have similar attention given to JLC?

personally, i never minded the asymmetrical lugs on the steel daytona... i just didn't understand the inconsistencies across the daytona line... gold and steel have the asymmetrical lugs, and platinum, WG, and RG were symmetrical, but those were "slightly longer" lug to lugs, so they wore slightly larger... very bizarre...

Glad to see the subject of the asymmetrical lugs finally discussed... Also, *most* precious metal ones are symmetric, apart from the Yellow Gold on *bracelet* models (116528 & 116508).

PS: The symmetric cased ones have a different end-link design too.

so Rolex doesn't even make their own hands and Grand Seiko hand finishes and polishes them in-house. Yet another factor (to add to the already many) my grail remains a GS. Thanks Watchfinder!

Girard-perregaux doesn't get the hype it deserves ! Beautiful watch !

I honestly thought that A. Lange & Söhne would get the top spot. I must have missed the part about popularity.

I think this says more about the YouTube videos I watch than anything else: I already knew the lugs were different sizes. But no way could I remember the 7 lines of text! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Is it just me, or are there lost of small imperfections on the steel back of these watches? the edges seam irregular as if corroded.

6:25 Why is the spacing so poor and uneven either side of the = sign?
