One of the things I find most ironic these days is that these so-called "influencers" very often don't have a clue what they are doing with their own lives.

People need to stop taking these influencers so seriously!

If Jon venus was worried about nutrient deficiencies, why didn't he provide blood test results?

I honestly am worried about the bs I’ll have to go through as a vegan parent now that I’m pregnant. People will feed their children McDonald’s and lunchables, but will tell me I’m being extreme. I actually had a family member ask me if I have cravings for non vegan food. It’s so annoying when it’s someone you’re close with. I don’t have cravings for cruelty and once you stop looking at beings as food it’s pretty simple.

I'm old(78) I'm Vegan and healthy, lots of energy and most importantly, for the last five years the world's animals are safe from
my former animal based diet😊
I was an endurance Athlete, hiker, runner etc. and I only wish I had been plant based in the past.
I don't know this Jon Venus person, but he doesn't seem to be very consistent in his thinking,
I'm afraid he's having emotional challenges, so he should do those of us who KNOW the real benefits a favor
and get the heck off the web:)
Cheers,

He's got a point. The fact that a social media influencer doing something is deemed "detrimental" to an ethical movement implies that a fair amount of his followers are sheeple. If they quit as easily as he did, they were never in it for the right reasons. If anything, this is a social experiment to see how many people think for themselves.

Exactly!!! I think everyone, who has two brain cells to rub together, can figure out that Jon is doing it for monetary reasons. His ethics clearly had a price tag.

Veganism isn't a diet, it's an ethical conviction that puts animal rights above all other concerns

Imaginary nutrient deficiencies will hurt his financial gains with any future sponsorship he was wanting to promote

I unsubscribed from him two years ago. I found him to be shady.

It's a problem people going vegan because they look up to someone who says they are vegan, they should be going vegan for the right reasons so that them staying vegan isn't predicated on how they feel about someone else.

Jon was never vegan. At least now everybody knows it.

I'm just happy to be plant based, I don't care if some influencer says it's not good for health, I prefer to listen to doctors who have spent years studying plant based diet. Also I strongly agree that we are vegan not only for health but also for ethical and environmental reasons

Thanks Dr. Garth Davis and thanks PBN.
As a father who is bringing his children up vegan I also made a response to this.
There’s not one good reason for what he decided to do.

it's actually much worse than portrayed here, jon has a brother who's an md and a wife that's a nutritionist.
if he actually was worried about his health, he should've just talked to them.
his channel tanking due to his first "i'm no longer vegan" video and a non vegan company sponsoring him was the most likely cause, not some actual health concern

He is negligible for the future is vegan! Keep on rocking guys!

I still think the wife and their new child had something to do with Jon's decision. Not to blame her because he is a big boy and should be making choices with regards to his values. That said, maternal pressure is tough to push aside. Plus, the pressure you receive from pediatricians about kids and their health is powerful. Pediatricians can also contact authorities if they believe you are 'neglecting' your children through what is a perceived as an extreme diet. Doctors, in general, go with consensus and consensus is that kids need meat, fish, dairy, and eggs to be healthy. I stopped worrying about who is or isn't vegan. Make your decision and stick with it. If you run into problems, get help from a nutritionist, registered dietician, or a doctor with appropriate training.

Vegan just for health alone probably won’t last very long. Societal and peer pressure will probably pull you back into eating meat eventually. Especially if you really liked meat and only tried to quit to improve your health. Other factors such as animal cruelty and the environment also need to be included in one’s motivation to be vegan. All I need to do is watch an occasional video on the horrors of factory farming to motivate me to remain vegan. Actually I find the thought of eating meat abhorrent now and could never return to meat even if I discovered that I had some nutritional deficiency. Not likely though as I have been vegan for over ten years and have no health issues and great blood work results! Vegan food options are now plentiful and there should be no problem with health unless one is only eating fries, pizza, etc. Vegan forever! ❤️
