In this video I discuss three potential ways to fix diarrhea on the carnivore diet.

Although many people find this improves after a few weeks, some others don't!

We look at three main causes, and how you can address each one of them.

Thank you Elliott! This is by far the best video done on this issue I’ve watched.

I've been steadfastly adhering to the Carnivore diet for over half a decade now. In the early stages, I grappled with persistent diarrhea for upwards of six months. Determined to find a solution, I started experimenting with the consumption of raw fermented Sauerkraut juice - a modest tablespoon each day. The result was a noticeable cessation of the diarrhea within a few days.

However, a few months down the line, I found myself without my usual supply. I switched to an alternative - the "Amish Wedding" brand of Sauerkraut. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this product was pasteurized, eliminating all the beneficial bacteria. Consequently, my previous digestive woes returned.

Since that experience, I've chosen the path of self-reliance, opting to produce my own Sauerkraut. I maintain a simple, cost-effective recipe using only Cabbage and Ancient Sea Salt ONLY. With this method, the jars fill up with enough liquid to last approximately a month each.

Embracing this routine has done wonders in managing my Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), the primary reason I ventured into the Carnivore diet in the first place.

Thank God! Finally, the information I have been looking for. Thank you for getting straight to the point!

I watched you today on oxalates. You mentioned how the viewers might of already watched Sally and I did but you gave me information that I really needed. When people are learning they usually watch information from multiple different sources… that’s what I do anyways.
You’re very educated. Don’t need to be a doctor degree to be educated.
Thank you for helping me!

These suggestions are very helpful. I’m throwing everything at my chronic diarrhea lasting 2 months into an otherwise wonderful healing not strict carnivore diet. My bloodwork is good, typically carnivore, all Bs good except niacin is low but maybe my body doesn’t need it since not many carbs are incoming.

My issue is definitely ox dumping but can be complicated by a bile issue, one way or the other, hard to tell. I’ve noticed i have to be extremely careful around eating the ox foods - too much and it triggers a huge dump. Also, the effects of mitigating the dumping, in my case diarrhea and constant urination, last about 8-10 hrs after eating the high ox food, like a little more chocolate than I would ever have, for instance, purposefully. Ate the chocolate at 8pm, by noon the next day full dumping returned. Very interesting. I’m of 2 minds about stopping the dumping, however, I want the oxalates out. If it’s a detox, I’d rather it go and get itself over with. I don’t want to add more oxalates to the assembly line waiting to exit and prolong the detox. In my case, the diarrhea is accompanied by hemorrhoids and I’m keen on bringing this phase to an end asap. I’ve got good management techniques so it’s not as disruptive as it can be. I’ve made my own witch hazel from plants i grow in my garden. An infusion of tea, no alcohol. Sally talks about the human body’s ability to handle a small amount of ox daily plus the endogenous ox creation. Additionally, the idea of healing the gut is to promote oxolobacter, the microbe that processes oxalates, in the gut. This becomes a Sisyphean task amongst all the environmental poisons especially Glyphosate, everywhere, plus mold plus aluminum and all the insecticides they spray.

I took psyllium husk yesterday and then later slippery elm powder. I made sure to take both of these outside the windows of food and supplement absorption/digestion because these fibers will bind everything in the stomach and intestines and take them out. This needs to be mentioned. All fiber will do this, including plant food fiber. Another reason for malabsorption. I was diarrhea-free from midday through the morning. I also took a bath with minerals suggested by Sally Norton: epsom salts 1/4 cup, baking soda 1/4 cup, boron 3 teaspoons (sold as laundry detergent Borax bc the govt is afraid you’ll be too healthy), sea salt 1/4 cup. I did not have the potassium bicarbonate (1/4 cup), on my shopping list. Additionally, i applied topical magnesium plus DMSO (this for the sulfur, the healing and the increased absorption of the Mg). These are salts and they sit rather harshly on the skin, a little prickly and tingly and may burn a bit especially if there are scratches from a beloved kitty, say. I apply on hands and put scrubby gloves on to sleep in. I also apply on belly and liver/gall bladder area and thyroid/throat. Dark bedroom, cover eyes, sleep. The sleeo wasn’t great. I suspect the minerals were too stimulating so late in evening. It’s ok. I’ll start earlier next time.

The waking bm was more solid but then shortly after 10 minutes as i drank my morning minerals and water, the liquid returned. So early breakfast included a fermented black tea, pu-ehr, with some cocoa powder (this us VERY high ox, beware) and a cinnamon sprinkle. Very enjoyable and perilous. If I’m gonna eat high ox food medicinally I’m going to enjoy them! No spinach or celery for me. My post-breakfast bm was fairly solid. Success!

This is how to do it, little by little, keep track of everything and rejoice in small victories and don’t despair when the discomfort and pain or however you ox dump doesn’t cease or resolve quickly. It’ll end. Eventually it’ll end. Keeo nourishing yourself.

I detail all this to help whoever is looking for it, like I always am. I read comments and then research myself and try it on me. My comment is very comprehensive, feel free to experiment before asking questions. Cheers!

I first watched this video about 5 months ago. That's when I ate a handful of nuts, and my diarrhea stopped. I'd just finished reading 'Toxic Superfoods' by Sally K. Norton, but hadn't put it all together until after this video. I'd been drinking a fairly high oxalate protein shake for breakfast for years. For about the last 4-1/2 months (May-Sept), I controlled the oxalate dumping by eating a controlled amount of peanuts every day as "lunch." I was gradually reducing the amount of nuts I was eating over that time and finally quit the nuts 2 weeks ago. Now, I could be having some bile "malabsorption." Restarted taking some calcium citrate after dinner to see if that helps. It's still a work in progress, but not giving up on carnivore.

Great video if a bit short.
Would've benefited of a word of warning against switching diets overnight, that probiotics might also require vitamin B complex supplementation (or liver), some warning about the initial bacteria die-off and such.
Also worth to mention that gristle is much harder to digest and can aggravate the diarrhea.

I started carnivore a month ago and I literally have diarrhea every day. I don’t drink coffee nor use any sweeteners. I literally pee through my a$$hole. It’s not even diarrhea just liquid.
I don’t eat too much fat either. I would fry bacon in its own fat and then bake eggs on that fat. That’s it. I stopped all dairy except ghee that I use rarely because I usually just use lard.
I know it takes a bit of time for the body to learn to absorb fat but I’m losing too much water and electrolytes with this diarrhea and taking magnesium always (before carnivore) made me have diarrhea so I can’t even supplement my electrolytes properly. I just put salt in water now.
I’m on a verge of quitting carnivore because it’s been a month now. Please help.
I don’t even know what are these supplements he’s talking about or how they be called in my language so I can ask in the pharmacy

Wife and I are on carnivore. She's well into 90 days and has not lost weight....she's already at a great weight but still, she hasn't lost an ounce. She has zero ill effects and sees improvements in her hair, skin, sleep, calmer, and sustained energy but no boost at the gym. I've been on it for 1 1/2 months, my poop is absolutely vile diarrhea and easily 3-4 times a day. When it's not diarrhea, it's an explosion of gas and stool. It's absolutely unpleasant to live like this. I see some improvement in my facial skin and sun damage spots are less sensitive in the sun. I'm trying to combat an immune issue with my severe inflamed water on the knee plaguing me from 13 years old. I haven't eaten gluten or dairy in decades trying to combat this. I hope carnivore works. Now, being more educated than most doctors I'm learning about oxalates and lectins in most plant foods and how it can be devastating to some folks. You people early in your life with health issues are lucky to have this information at your fingertips. Non surgical doctors in my opinion are obsolete....coming from me who's had to deal with ignorance and biased text book trained doctors. Soon Ai will replace prescription happy doctors.

I did carnivore for 80 days, and about a month was the lion diet. I ate nothing but 65/35 burger. The carnivore diet did great things for me. Lost some weight I could never lose, got rid if inflammation in my knees, slept better as well. However, I started to have more and more difficulties with bowel movements (even though I was drinking plenty of water, high fat, and just the right amount of salt. Finally one morning, day 80, I could not squeeze out a poop. It was pretty scary feeling. Not that I had constipation, it just was there, but not willing to come through the door. lol
Right then and there I decided we were going to do some oatmeal, and within 2 hours, things were rolling very well. I encourage everyone who can remain on the diet to keep at it. Another thing, however, is pay attention to if you feel any kidney pains, or severe thirst. Lots of protein is harder for the kidneys to process and high fat slows down digestion. I did a dot physical yesterday, and they found blood in my urine. Since then, I've backed off from 2 lbs of burger a day, to just eggs for now. Then when I do reintroduce beef, it will probably be only 150g a day.

I'm going through Candida die off. I've upped my Vit B12 as well as Thiamine. I should never have introduced poxy carbs and junk food back into my diet again. 🤦

Plain yogurt and Greek yogurt is my friend.

If you could do a video of Candida die off and what B vits we need etc ..that would be utterly amazing.

I don’t have a gall bladder. I cycle about every three days between constipation and diarrhea. I was on keto for nearly a year, and I switched to carnivore which I’ve been on for nearly 3 months.

Wow! Ive been researching for two days extreme diarrhoea as soon as i eat. About 3 or 4 weeks into carnivore, omad. Was wondering about oxolates, got no gall bladder, nothing seems to ease it. At wits end. Will watch and rewatch and see which things to take

I believe my problem is caused by post-cholecystectomy syndrome. Ever since I had my gallbladder out many years ago, I get diarrhea easily when I eat anything with much fat in it. I make sure I take digestive enzymes when I eat like this. It helps.
