One HUGE Reason I Can’t Be An ATHEIST

Reminds me of a joke/story told by our old scientist says to God that he can make corn "better" than the corn God himself created. Humoring him, God replies that he'd like to see this. The scientist rushes to get out his equipment and chemicals, then pulls out some hybrid lab-created seeds and brings them over to a prepared patch of dirt. God says, "Wait....first, make your OWN DIRT"

Evolution doesn’t attempt to answer this. Abiogenesis does. It’s the idea that life can spontaneously arise from ordinary chemicals. Since life afterall is chemicals that have formed a self sustaining reaction and changes in complexity over time.

I was just thinking today that if a cell could be formed by chemical processes which could possibly occur randomly in a puddle of goop, then we ought to be able to figure out and duplicate those chemical reactions in order to produce a cell. Can we totally test tube a cell from atoms/molecules only? If we cannot and cells can only be created by being born from parent cells, then nature could not have done it either. The jump from molecules, which are inanimate and do not care about anything, forming into living cells which operate for the purpose of “survival” makes absolutely no sense at all. Atoms do not care. Why would atoms form into clumps that suddenly care about intaking other atoms in order to “survive” in a particular state? My own body is made up of atoms which do not care. Molecules which do not care. So why do I care? Where does that come from?

This is a topic that troubles those that do not trust, believe, nor accept the power of an Almighty God. When this happens they question as if it would make a difference knowing how everything was created. Then they fiddle with things to try and create using God’s creations and feel great pride over their work. They fuss at, mock, and scorn those that do believe in God. Yet in the end, it is He that stands at the center of all forms of creation. While the arrogant nonbelievers turn to dust and are blown away with the sands of time. It’s as simple as that.

Evolution never has or will claim to know how life originated. Evolution claims to understand the diversity of life as we know it.

This was always the point when I was in high school, but there was an even better one for me. When my 10th grade English teacher asked if anyone still believed in God, I alone rose my hand and was asked to explain. The reasoned answer I gave left him no point to comment, argue back, or toss an insult.

The statistical chance of life forming accidentally (even in its most basic and simplest forms) is mathematically impossible—resulting in an irrational and infinite number. Sheer math proves the existence of a creator:


How likely to find a protein (gene code) by chance with all the amino acids interacting with each other in primordial soup?


* How common (or rare) are the functional sequences (i.e., proteins) among all the possible combinations of amino acids?
* 10 to the 74 power (just to get the amino acids sequenced properly)
* How to build a protein (other probabilistic hurdles to overcome):
* Attach amino acids together with a peptide bond
* Peptide Bonds occur in a 1 or 2 frequency (half are, half aren’t)
* Non-peptide bonds can’t form a protein
* A protein is 150 amino acids long: means a 1in2 chance at each connection site of getting the correct type of linkage (149 linkages total)
* This becomes 10 to the 45 power
* When building proteins, amino acids come in two “flavors”:
* Left handed and right handed “flavors” called optical isomers
* Left handed version is the only one that can be used in building proteins, even one “right handed” optical isomer in there and your protein won’t fold properly
* Chance to build a “short, ” functional protein is again 10 to the 45th power

Chances of finding a functional protein by chance:
10^74 x 10^45 x 10^45 = 1/10^164


Comparison (for frame of reference):
- 10^80 elementary particles in the universe
- 10^16 seconds since the Big Bang
- 10^139 events since the beginning of the universe

Mathematicians use the lowercase “e” for a much more interesting purpose—to denote Euler's number (2.7182818284 to 10 decimal places). This number, like π, is an irrational number, because it has a non-recurring decimal that stretches to infinity.


Hence the mathematical chance that humans are here by accident is literally an infinite and impossibly long number—it can’t be quantified and any serious scientist must admit these facts.

Evolution is the theory of decent with inherent genetic variation. It does not, nor has ever claimed to be a theory on the origins of life itself. In a very real sense it doesn't matter, evolutionary speaking, how life started, as evolution is only concerned with the mechanisms by which it diversified
