ok so the weird thing. the main emulation station it self wasn't launching on some proton versions it would pop up and then disappear but some worked. I did as the video described but nothing. then I launched them with no proton layer at all and now most of them started working, is that normal is it suppose to run the game with no compatibility layer on?

I've had my deck for some time now so tinkering with proton comes naturally to me now but this is a great little video, I'm sure if I'd found this when I'd first gotten my deck it would have saved me a lot of stress and I'm glad someone is making such beginner friendly content for those who are yet to learn about pc gaming. thank you sir ! indeed my games stopped launching after the latest update of proton, coundnt figure what it was, then using an older version of proton as u shown did the trick, you saved my day and hours of redownloading the games thank you !

I am currently having this issue where my game will not launch. I am trying to play Japan drift master and the day before but both games say “system does not know software yet” I’m also trying to play the day before but it’s also early access. I don’t know if it is just because the games are not compatible with steam deck or it’s my internet speed. Any info helps.

It didn't work for me, trying it on the Forgotten Realms collection 2. I'm ok up until I try to add characters to a party, and then I get a brown screen that keeps switching between GEO 1 error and GEO 2 error
