The application didn't run BUT! it fixed my Utorrent and with that I redownload it and it worked

Don’t do this. It will mess up your registry and you won’t be able to open up any apps, including the registry once you’ve finished.

Well it did work when i change the value to exefile and i skipped the rest of the steps.Just dont do the other part.

As this did not work for me, I found another easier solution for the single application I had problems with:
1. Right click the exe-file that you are unable to open and choose "Properties".
2. Go to the "Compatibility"-tab and click "Run compatibility troubleshooter".
3. Click "Try recommended settings" and then click "Test the program..."
4. If your program starts, click "Next" and then "Yes, save these settings for this program".
5. Close troubleshooter, hopefully your application will work now :)

don't do this is my personal suggestion . my os was corrupted and regdit will not open after it so you can go back also .
i do this and changed to new os and paid 400 rupess. my suggestion not to do

worked for my pc, didn't know what happened, i was playing game half way and then i pressed somewhere between ctrl + alt + w/a/s/d and then every app closed and couldn't even open a single one after that

maybe because the game I was playing that already turned down on me
I installed house of the dead and I played it fine
but after half an hour or less playing
the game crashed and stopped loading
I don't know what happened
I tried everything
and I have downloaded almost all files of the game that people uploaded in the net
I literlly downloaded them all
but nothing
the same thing
and at the end it gave me a notification
the 640X450 something
not supported
so I am lost
