Amen girlfriend!! I would walk away every time my daughter had a serious meltdown. Worked like a charm. She’s now 45. It’s now HER TURN

Thank you so much for this. The past 3 days my 16 month year old just randomly started throwing the worst tantrums ever almost like she was possessed 🤣 I've been ignoring her during them and it works! Hope it calms down soon.

What if they last longer than five minutes? Our daughter starts to bang her head and get more worked up.

Very helpful thank you LOL my 18 month old screams and cries I usually put him in his crib and put toy story on and he relaxes. Is that something healthy? I'm going to try this too, but they last forever lol

I have a 15 month right now and I have been trying to intervene on these meltdowns and try and make them happy and then it’s literally the worst thing I could’ve done and that’s what this lady‘s saying so I gotta switch up my parenting and I’m kind of scared lol because he’s already 15 months I’m hoping I can nip it in the butt.

I’m kinda scared because my 14 month old get so upset and she tries to bang her head on whatever is on her way and I’m scared that she will get hurt 😞

I have a 15 month old baby and he screams so loud that it makes me lose control. I have a low temper, some times I slap him in his lips or cover his mouth to make him stop and it kills me in the inside. He does that when he’s happy or mad and mostly when we don’t give him what he wants. I need help please, I try to ignore it but I just can’t!!

Ignoring your child is never good advice. Tantrums are huge feelings manifesting themselves physically. Kids can’t regulate their emotions until they’re older children so leaving them during a really hard time and a time when they literally have no control over their actions is nonsense. Sit with your child silently and let them know you’re there. Be a strong comfort for them and wait out the storm. I’m actually appalled by this video. Do better. Kids are not manipulating you by having tantrums or meltdowns ESPECIALLY AT 15 MONTHS! 🤦🏼‍♀️

obviously but you said literally nothing of what we should do with them during the process

We should never ignore a crying baby
Just as we shouldn’t crying adults

We have temper tantrums as adults too

They’re all an expression of emotions that need to be seen felt and acknowledged no matter what the age.
This is very sad and disappointing to hear coming from a professional.

Sure, just start saving for phychologist for when your kid grows up and suddenly hates you or does not know how to deal with emotions
