OMG, you got many APs 😮

Funny to follow all the upgrades.

great vid! just noticed the sync is off on the bit inside, the mouth is off by <1 sec when you are at your desk.. is the wifi speed not fast enough to keep up? 😛

Does that mounting bracket come with the device?

Hi Lars,
great video. I'm about to buy unifi outdoor ap for 2 ip cameras, some IoT devices and 3 smartphones when I'm or other people are outside. Recently unifi ac mesh has been restocked and it's 1/2 price of u6 mesh. Do you think that ac mesh will be enough? What is the range of u6 mesh?

Thinking about migrating to this system. Going to go for a UDM pro for the controller, but can you just use the mesh system and adopt it into the UDM without being hardwired? I don't have a ton of cat6 ran throughout the house, and will need to use the power adapter for the poe for power. Assumption is you can just use the mesh/udm pro combo but would need to initially set the devices up with them plugged into the UDM

Unless you have a faster wired connection then 1 Gbps to the rest of you network a higher speed is only useful to other devices on the same AP. But given that throughput speed on WiFi are always halfduplex meaning both upload and download combined it really shouldn't be a big problem but in theory if you were to get devices that used all 573 Mbps and 4.8 Gbps you would lose over 60% of the speed the moment the data goes from the AP to the switch.
But unify really should have put at least 2.5 Gbps ethernet on all their WiFi 6 products.
But using 40 MHz channels also eliminates most of the problem since it also cuts the throughput in half, meaning 4x4 link is a around 1200 Mbps download under ideal conditions.

No you can't get 5gbps throughput there is only a 1gb Wan port and say it's device to device unless you have wifi 6e with pci4 m.2 rives on both devices you MIGHT get that rate

With that many aps I hope you have like a 20k sqf house or wayyyy over saturated
