Thank you, going to look right now. People I bought car from spent money on Trans replacement and much more. Think this most likely solved the issue. I have noticed a bit of burning wiring smell and couldn't track it down . Will post results.

My car was running rough at a stop. Problem was the main harness on the A.C. line. Wore right through it. That was my problem. You know your stuff bro!! Gonna check these other spots now. This problem was driving me crazy. Check Engine light came on. Immediately thought "gas cap". Adjusted and light went out after a few cold starts. Then I found a video on the Low Pressure A.C. line harness. That was it.

Thank you, any idea what the part is called right under the wires at 2:10. There’s a plug that connects to something and I believe it shot circuit something because the engine won’t crank on

Does the Five Hundred have a test point to measure fuel pressure with a gauge?

After repairing all the coil and throttle body wire harnesses the vehicle ran great and is still out on the road. Sorry for the late update

I recently bought a Ford 500 because I needed a all wheel drive for the snow coming up soon it's slamming in and out of drive and reverse the ABS light and engine light are active I think it might be a small problem

Mine is doing the exact same thing I changed the throttle body then something happened with my radiator mechanic messed it got everything done fixed I get it home the next day the failsafe switch is on again now it won't stay running idk what to do I've spent over $700 already 😢

Got a 05 ford five hundred and it ran good with no issues the first week, was getting ready to take a trip and the guage cluster had an odometer reader error and stopped working, while driving the car home the guages started working but threw an engine code for high fuel rail pressure. I did replace the fuel rail sensor and the fuel filter when i got home but the guages do not work again. The car does not seem to have hesitation on starts and drives normal, wherw would a good start be to diagnose this issue?

Round the code it said misfire on the number one plug I replaced it and the coil pack

I'm working on a 2006 500. Car just got a new fuel pump, new MAF sensor, and a new battery. It starts then immediately dies. Fuel pump hums prior to starting up so I'm crossing out anything fuel related as far as relays go. Throttle body issue maybe?

my ford five hundred jerks when i abruptly slow down from accelerating. and hesitates when i accelerate. i have a check engine code for fuel pump could that be why?

You can usually just clean the throttle body. Coils and plugs seem to be the issue for these symptoms. P0301 p0361 codes for mine.

Just bought 2006 Ford 500 ran great first two days then some hesitation while driving. Slowly got worse . To the point of stalling. Knocking and stalling out. Previous owner had gone thru 3 gas caps said her mechanic said it was air leak in gas cap. I changed cap and cap still seems to be not doing its job unless it’s wiring problem like this. Any tips?

I have an 06 freestyle and I have the exact motor and transmission as yours. That thing is missing randomly and I've replaced the the plugs, coil packs and MAF sensor along with replacing the valve cover gasket (#4 plug well had oil in it) and it still misses. I just wish the check engine light would come on so that I could figure something out.

06 for 500 sel Pig tail to the crank and cam shaft sensors also fray apart and will cause all these problems. I replaced coils fuel pump filters and all along it was this pig tail frayed apart to the cam and crank sensors ita hard to see but this is a number one problem for this year and model.
