Important things to know before buying a computer!

Buying a new computer is something that typically requires a lot of thought, because there is so much to consider. How much RAM to get, what kind of CPU, should you build it or buy it off the shelf? This video covers pretty much every possibility for what to look for. This includes the specs of the computer of course, but also what to look for in each hardware component, such as the CPU, Graphics card, RAM, Storage SSD or HDD, and even optical disc drives.

"What is the most important part of a pc?"

Answer: the power cable cuz if u don't have it, u can't turn on the pc so it's useless

Dude how can you have a CPU *and* GPU in the *same* system?? I mean the human eye can only see -9 fps! Also, why BUY a PC? Just buy a case and download the ram and ssd.

Good stuff ThioJoe and love you software Videos, I'm a 51 year old PC gamer (from 486 on up) and have found that the main reason I need a new PC is the processor is to weak for the new games that come out. The easiest thing for beginner PC gamers is to find the highest end game on the market (2018/2019 for now) and get a PC that matches the recommended requirements or better. Just did my first build and would like to share some tips that I have found out. 1) due to copyright protect you can't play Blueray or DvD through HDMI cable. 2) optical disk drives are good for mix song CD's you can play in your car, if it gets damaged or lost you can burn a new one. 3) if you want to watch movies you can only download to the drive that the OS is on, you can't put them on storage devices (SD cards, external storage, ect..), for laptop or tablet I would recommend a device that has a large amount of device storage. 4) buy at you own risk from basement builders, main problem is if the OS is copied it will my not be recognized by Microsoft and you will have to buy the OS which could run you an extra $100.

Thanks for all your videos. I've learned a LOT from them. If something goes wrong with my computer, I look it up on YouTube, and can usually find help on your channel. Keep them coming. I look forward to them.

Hey Thio Nice video! You talked about TPM when you recommended windows home but forgot to mention that bitlocker (which uses TPM for storing keys) it's only available in windows pro and entreprise.
