Vit C was the first active I ever integrated into my skincare routine. I'd love a dedicated Vit C video!

Beauty of Joseon sunscreen has become my favorite sunscreen. I plan to buy a tube for each of my grown children as a stocking stuffer! Thanks for your suggestions!

Drmtlgy tinted moisturizer spf 46 is my holy grail! I have super sensitive dry, rosacea, and hormonal acne prone skin… this is the first sunscreen (after about 20 brands) I’ve ever been able to tolerate long term without breakouts/ rosacea flares

I prefer the Timeless 10% vitamin C serum for an ascorbic acid formulation. My skin seems to tolerate it well, but I haven’t been able to work up to daily use. Three times a week seems to be my max.

I’m currently testing the Vanicream SPF 30 (mineral/physical) and Beauty of Joeson SPF 50 (“chemical”) sunscreens and liking them. I recently got the BoJ sunscreen for just over $10 a tube.

Some of my fav sunscreens are:
- Beauty of Joseon (obviously!)
- Isntree Water Suncream (Korean - pretty dewy, better for oilier folks in winter and dry folks in summer)
- Eucerin Oil Control Sunscreen (matte finish for oily ppl)
- SVR suncreen (same as Eucerin) I can't rmb the name but it's got an orange packaging.

These are all chemical sunscreens I believe. No white cast really.

Acne prone/combination skin in late 30s. Been using Elta MD Clear for 10+ years. I use Vitamin C serum daily in the morning- Rohto Melano cc serum (Japan) and Goodal green tangerine vitamin c dark spot (Korea). Both affordable and effective on dark spots. Non comedogenic. ❤

Over the years I learned that less is more. Thanks for the video confirming that. Anyway, I have a very important question which most YouTube dermatologist don't cover. I noticed that you did not use Vit. C or the sunscreen over the top of your eyes and eyelids. Are you not suppose to use there? The sun penetrates your eyelids same as your face also, the retinols that you get specifically made for eye area, are you supppose to put it on top of your eyes and eyelids? Please be the doctor that at least covers the basics of application where others don't. TIA.

Thank you for recommending the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen, I've been struggling with sunscreens that either irritate my skin or roll/flake off if I try to apply anything on top of them, but this sunscreen works like a miracle. It makes my skin very soft and glowy without irritation or any other issues. Perhaps I've finally found The One Sunscreen. 😍

Also, I was wondering, do your know or have you tried skincare products from the brand Paula's Choice? They have several retinol products, exfoliants and serums and I'd love to hear your thoughts on those.

Love your videos Dr Sam! So I actually have a sunscreen suggestion, I barely hear anyone mention this one. It’s from Eucerin. They came out with a few sunscreens this year and I am in LOVE with the Age Defense plus hyaluronic acid SPF 50. It’s a chemical sunscreen but it doesn’t sting or burn or run into my eyes ever! I wear contact lenses and use tretinoin so I usually feel the burn on my skin or in my eyes with chemical sunscreens but this one is so nice and hydrating and easy to spread. it’s only $15 for 2.5 oz! Can’t beat that! Hope this helps someone out.

Paulas choice has a great sunscreen for less than $20. No breakouts and spf 50. Extra care non greasy. 5 oz. Face or body. I use on face every day.

I'm not a fan of products with droppers so I use the Timeless 20% vitamin C + Ferulic Acid & Vitamin E. Also really affordable. For my oily, acne prone skin, my favorite sunscreen is the tinted Elta MD UV Elements. It's amazing. It's not drying and it doesn't settle into pores or fine lines. I use it year round with a little powder on humid or damp days.

I tried the Mae Love, it seemed to do nothing for me and I actually sent the last bit of it back. I thought the Skinceuticals C Fe was awful! It was so incredibly sticky!! I think whatever you buy, make sure you are able to return it if you don’t like it. It may take a few tries to find a product you like.

I also love the Vanicream Facial moisturizer spf 30 (has 19.5% zinc oxide) & the Cerve hydrating mineral sunscreen (5.5% titanium dioxide, 10% Zinc oxide). These are both affordable and super hydrating. Love using these on the whole family!

My absolute favorite sunscreen is the Cetaphil ProDerma SPF 30 mattifying sunscreen. It's a moisturizer, but doesn't leave you feeling greasy. It has the SPF needed. It's in a pump and unscented. My favorite part though is the mattifying properties. So, for those of us who may get a little oily, or those who don't love glowing like a disco ball, this does a fantastic job at keeping the "shiny" at bay. It's worked under every foundation I've tried without pilling up. I got it at Ulta for about $14, but I'm sure you can get it just about anywhere that sunscreen is sold. So, so good!

Used Skin Ceuticuls CE ferulic with B5 gel for 20 years. I am 64 and no wrinkles. I never use SPF.except what is in my foundation. I look around 45-50.... I give Skin Ceuticuls all the credit. Fabulous product. This year I am using Neoceuticals stem cell and Korean Pills. Huge jump forward in younger looking skin. Started Nira home laser this week for eyes and marionette, nasolabial, and eleven area.

The Black Girl Sunscreen SPF kids 50 is a great affordable sunscreen that is 10 dollars. This brand also has a clear SPF and 30 SPF too.

My go-to sunscreen is the Axis-y No Stress Sunscreen. Similar in price to the Beauty of Joseon one. Dries matte and feels so good, but the main reason I love it is because IT DOESN'T STING MY EYES. Eye stinging is my only deterrent to wearing sunscreen, so it's super important to me that the ones I choose don't.
