People have been asking Apple to put a touchscreen on their Macs, but there might a very valid reason why they haven't done it. So we decided to make one ourselves and see how it goes.

I like how they use Riley for everything that has to do with making strange looking poses

A touchscreen computer makes Riley a productive boy. :)

As a digital artist, I’d kill for a 2-in-1 MacBook Pro. To be able to both sketch and do office work on a single Apple device with desktop software would be super convenient for me.

That taped screen represents the kind of DIY spirit we all know and love from LMG

I like Jonathan. he's a fanboy but he has a good understanding of the brand ethos and he's capable of critical thinking. Great addition to the enterprise, Linus!

I'd just like iPadOS to not be a castrated OS and be able to do some actual development work on those beasts of machines.

Now I understand what Linus means by, "We hired a guy with apple fans way of thinking." This kind of thinking wouldn't ever occurred for pc guy.

I think Apple’s whole point is “if we give you an actually usable trackpad with gestures you don’t really need touch”. The trackpad already has tap, swipe, zoom, pinch, etc., and it does so perfectly. If I have the all the gestures I want in a more ergonomic position, there’s absolutely no need for a touchscreen. Personally, I use my MacBook Pro every day with a big screen plugged in and I can reach both monitors perfectly with my trackpad. I don’t even feel the need for a mouse... I only use it every many months when I have to use Blender or something else that is 3D related.

It's really nice to have someone explaining technology from an Mac perspective.

On my Windows laptop, I frequently scroll through documents with the screen while using my computer on the couch. Also, I frequently turn my laptop into tablet more to draw some notes/ideas out. It's great to be able to work on one document where I can draw and type.

Me when Mac Address started: You have my curiosity.
Me when I see the title of this video: Now you have my attention.

“Yes you can move the dock to the side of the screen, but what kind of monster does that.”

Ouch.

As a field service engineer, i love having a touch screen on my laptop. I use it mainly for touch to zoom for schematics and manuals. Admittedly, a very niche use case.

I find a touch screen useful for laptops, especially if I'm doing something that requires a lot of scrolling. Depending on how you're seated, having your arm resting on the surface in front of you and using your thumb to scroll (like you would on a phone) is far more comfortable than using the track pad. I don't use the touch screen super often on my laptop, but when I do, I'm glad it's there. It's one of those "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it" type of things imo.

The production quality of Mac Address is actually insane.

The presentation of this channel is on a whole other level. I don't even hesitate to click on the video when I receive its notification.

The thing about touch is it's an option. It's nice to have when you need it, for example when doing CAD on the go in F360, you can properly move around it in 3d, in ways you can't with the touchpad. And just there the couple times you use it, I have an xps and rarely use it, but I get annoyed when using another laptop that doesn't, sometimes.
