This is such an amazing idea. I have now integrated this into my work life and I wear a velcro T-shirt everyday. It was SO easy. I just added velcro to all my tools and slap them on my back! I’ve been doing this for years. I took one of the hard shell cases and glued a huge piece of Velcro over the entire lid case and boom exactly what your wanting.

Even if we were to do this, it would overheat too quick meaning if it’s like cheap Velcro the stickiness would melt

You could also 3d print some holders for the MacBook and it will also act somewhat as a case

you should try a heat and stress test. These things like SSDs and hubs tend to over heat a lot and the velcro might not be a good idea

I’ve been doing this for years on my on-set MacBooks, the trick is keeping the weight low and towards the hinge. Usually running 2x 4tb ssds and a hub. Any cheap case and strips of Velcro will do. Never had an issue with a failed hinge. Oh and use the dual lock Velcro.
