Ps. You don't always have to take off the keys. Sometimes a Lil iso alcohol and a brush will do the job!

Fun fact: Windows has a feature called as sticky keys if you press the shift key a lot

It’s all fun and games until you break the tiny clips under the keys, and they don’t click back on😭

Here's something you didn't know; PRG's first video on YouTube is him removing the back glass of a phone using a laser machine.

what a coincidence, I noticed last night that my x key on my M1 MacBook Air was really mushy compared to the others, and it turns out that it had like this weird gunk from food probably on like the side of the key, but on the inside. I didn't pull if off but I peeled it back and scraped away at the gunk with some tweezers and the key works perfectly now

Alcohol is the last thing you should use on keyboard internals. Once alcohol comes into contact with the adhesive holding the membrane, it permanently loosens it, and there's no way to reattach it.

You just saved my "S" key.
- My laptop (Macbook Air M1),
- my fingers,
- and my mental sanity
are so grateful to you.
Thanks for this concise and actionable video!

PS: The hard part is popping the key out,
I used a plastic spudger from a Macbook repair-kit to slide the flat edge under the key.
I had to use force and it took me like 7 attempts to get it right. No damage done.

Then I had to take a picture and zoom to see a vast amount of dust and possible tiny crumbs.
A dry blow from my mouth did the trick,
Finishing with a q-tips (but wasn't necessary for me).

Replacing the key and pressing all around did the trick but not right away.
I had to "massage" the key for 2 minutes to totally get it in place.

I'm now using this key to type this message and it's so pleasurable.
I had this issue for over a month.

Don’t remove the keys like that at all. They are made to unclip on the bottom, and the. Slide off. If you just pry them off there is a good chance the clips will break

It’s a good idea to take it apart and make sure no liquid got inside the computer. Liquids specially sweet ones are very hard to dry and always leave residue. Also stickiness in the keys is a pita especially if it got in more than 4 keys, the only way to get it good as new is replacing the topcase.

you just saved my ESC key. It was driving me crazy because it would esc everything and my macbook air 2015 sometimes went crazy and made a loud sound of a pressing key which was the esc. Thank you God bless you

Windows: do you have sticky keys?
MacOS: Yes, but actually no

I tell my students. Don't take your laptop to the beach to study. They never listen. A few hundred dollars worth of repairs later they learn the hardware.

Why did I appreciate that vacuum noise so much

Shouldn’t she be worried about liquid damage? Or is the MacBook keyboards sealed enough to protect against spills?

Dude that key removal hurt my soul. Macbooks have clips on the bottom of the keys and a sliding mechanism on top. You should keep your finger on top of the key so you don't break the sliding mechanism. If it breaks, the whole keyboard is done. It's not worth taking the risk of not putting your finger on top.
Plus, it helps with the key not flying off like that.
Anyway, love your videos.

Just a lil suggestion, you could have brushed first before vacuuming just saying
