I've had mine for 14 years due to rectal cancer. Even if you're dilegent about your upkeep and change it every two or three days, sometimes equipment failures catch you at the wrong time. A blocked bag vent, a wrinkle in the barrier, or faulty glue. These things happen.

Man I wish this was around years ago ....I had a student with one his mom did not take care of him well wasn't supposed to but I CHANGED HIS BAG because his mother would let it fill up till over flowing literally come to achool.smell8ng like wahta n the bag ...he used to be so embarrassed...wen he saw he he would cheer up some cuz he knew got me ...he will do it I could of showed him this to let him kno don't be embarrassed ur not alone bro hope he'd ok where ever he is

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer on 12/9/23.... the mass is sitting on my anal verge. I am scheduled to start 5 weeks of radiation treatment on Feb 3 5 times a week to shrink the mass followed by six 3 week cycles of chemo a month after radiation ends. I will have surgery about a month after chemo in hopes that the mass has shrunk enough that my rectum can be repaired with a temporary colostomy....if not my rectum will need to be removed and i will have a permanent colostomy bag....

I know people with stoma, and I might need one too, it do not smell anything at all, and the people I know who has it even swim in swimmingpool with no problem, you can do whatever what an person without a stoma can do, you can live a normal life 😊❤
