It is very nice to see the initiative by destination linux network to solve the quality control issue.

I don't there are ever going to be fingerprint drivers for the Gen6 X1 Carbon, but it does have an InfraRed webcam, and I found a linux project called 'Howdy' which allows me to login with face recognition! It works extremely well, and I love how it auto kicks in when I run a sudo command...like you said, hard to go back to typing your long password everytime.

Have to say how easy it is to theme bpytop in the config, having made the dracula theme, all the naming and comments are all perfectly clear. Hope you had a great holiday, and i can't think of a better use of time then listen to this video. OMG just realised you have 25k subs now, holy... It's awesome seeing good content creators getting the support they deserve.

Maybe a good topic of discussion: track pad gestures by default in distributions and/or desktop environments. It's frustrating seeing people coming to Linux and being disappointed there aren't any good gestures for things like switching workspaces and bringing up the activities overview in Gnome. I really think these gestures would fit in Gnome! Also, considering that the majority of the Linux user base are using laptops, it makes me wonder why people aren't talking about this.

Hi Jason, I have edited the video for my channel in Kdenlive since the day one (at least 5 years), its a great tool, but, about a year now, i'm using DaVinci Resolve and can see me coming back to Kdenlive anytime soon, unless i really have to for some reason. I try Cinelerra some times along the way, but i always caught myself thinking "Damm! This is ugly!" haha, I simply cannot understand how designers can look at a application like this and feel that "is OK". xD
Cinelerra has a great potential, but it need a better "package" to be attractive, and it needs to be more user-friendly, it reminds me the old days of Avid Media Composer. Anyway, keep doing this great job, cheers from Brazil! :)

Cin is pretty cool. I looked at different linux video editors years ago. At the time, Cinalerra was just crazy with icons and different versions so never bothered with it. These days it looks (dare I say it) given a proper look.

Did you mention OpenShot*? Have you tried it? Is it worth exploring?

* if you did, I missed it. Apologies; I'm listening while doing other stuff.

I need help. I was wanting to record my screen and convert it into GIF. I exported the GIF file from Kdenlive but it is about 86 MB large for somewhat around 1 minute of video. Can you guys suggest which software to use to export GIF or any software that could reduce my gif size?

You can also try Resolve as it has the native version available for Linux which is free. But the only thing is it is not open sourced. Though I haven't tried this software using it in Linux but you can try it and let us know how it is.

Lenovo is the bomb. If you want it, you could try to grab my X1 Carbon out of my cold dead hands ;)
