Is it normal to be hungry every couple of hours during the first trimester?
Показать описание
It's very normal for you to feel really hungry when you're pregnant, and a lot of women feel like this is more pronounced during the 1st trimester. And that old saying, "You can eat for two while you're pregnant.", doesn't actually apply, even though you might feel like eating double the amount. In fact, in the 1st trimester, you don't need extra calories at all, but in the 2nd and 3rd trimester, you do need 200 to 300 calories above and beyond your body's requirements to help sustain and support your growing baby. Curb your hunger by eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day, and add in a couple of snacks, especially ones with protein. So a lot of pregnant women just grab crackers or carbs, because that's usually what sounds good too. But couple it with protein, and that will keep you fuller longer, and it will be better for your body. So try crackers and a cheese stick, or apples and peanut butter. Those are going to be healthy choices that give you and your baby good nutrition, and also make it so you're not eating way more calories than you actually need.
