I will always vouch for self improvement.
I teach the self improvement that saved my life. It's self improvement mixed with spirituality and masculinity. The belief that we are worthy enough and deserving of love right now. That doesn't mean that we don't have goals and purposes and things we go after, but still, it's important to realize we are enough worthy and deserving of love before during and after that process. If it were not for this philosophy that I try my best to spread, I would have ended up in prison or dead. In my early teens I was a mental Ill, substance abusing, sociopathic gang member. It is my journey of self improvent, spirituality, and masculinity that saved my life. That is what I work to spread the word about. What I went through and the desire to improve, helped me heal my traumas, put my disorders on a choke hold, and finally get a good sense of self esteem. I do agree with most of what you said though. I see alot of self improvement youtubers preach and belittle people for not being in a certain place or being a certian way. Im agianst that myself, I believe people should be inspired and encouraged . Overall very solid points. New sub here

i’m actually glad this video exists; i’m into self-improvement, but not INTO self-improvement if that makes sense . in the past i’ve tried the self-improvement rabbit hole and watching all the influencers without success, because my mindset wasn’t right and i hated myself deep down; i felt like i wasn’t enough. this time around i’ve learned to appreciate myself and give myself grace in my current state even though it’s not where i wanna be; because like you said, negativity would’ve been my fuel. i find myself doing better taking it a day at a time slowly and not consuming so much self-improvement content to where i actually look forward to my goals instead of doing them to spite myself—another thing that helped me is shifting my focus from the aesthetics of my body to actual long term fitness goals, being able to do certain things has a way better payoff than pure aesthetics

that’s exactly what I did for the past 2 years. isolating myself completly from friends and family and focused only on „self-improvement“. in fact I didn’t made an impactful change over the last 2 years. things just got worser and worser. falling into depression and all that bs. The last 2 years now feel like a waste of time, im 22 now. balance is so important. now im still focused on self-improvement but in a much easier and chill way and its so much more fun and easier and the progress comes more by only focusing on self-improvement. i was so obsessed with accomplishing so much in a day that I accomplished nothing. by watching all that motivational bs on youtube just made the things worse because I unconsciously comported myself to them and felt like that I’m far behind them and I have to „hustle“ to keep up with them. this video is an reflection of my last 2 years.

After 5 months of self improvement, in the past few days i felt like I was losing, not only my friends, but also my true self, i completely changed my personality since i started this journey, i saw everybody be happy with themselves after going monk mode, so i decided to try it too, and after two days of doing it perfectly, i felt exhausted and burnt out, i was not thinking with my mind anymore, i was just doing what i thought i had to do to become "better", after seeing this i understood that sometimes things are just good as they are without a need to fix them, and you just simply have to enjoy life.
Thank you, Shimon.

Man I've found your channel at the perfect time. I used to be a self improvement junkie - it started off good and healthy, I got results, I became more confident it was great. Ive now been burnt out for the better part of the year; Ive got bad body dysmorphia, Im massively withdrawn and my girlfriend has shown me that I'm not myself at the moment. Your videos are so motivating for me to get back on the horse, do things right, for me to live healthy and improve. Many thanks man, you're an inspiration

Amen. So many self improvement videos are about how to be “that student”. They say they will show you how to get a girlfriend or boyfriend, be super popular, get good grades, and be well liked. Now, these things are good, yet it is more about changing how other people view you, not about actually being a good person. Grades don’t mean everything. Sometimes people are going through life and they don’t have the right environment or time to achieve good grades. Maybe they don’t even want a career that requires good grades. Not everyone has have a partner, in fact you don’t need one. And you don’t even need friends either. If you try your best and nobody likes you or wants to be your friend, that's okay. It’s not the end of the world to eat lunch alone. And as for being well liked, it doesn't matter what other people think of you. Jesus was the son of god and yet he was mocked and spit on. My point is that saying that these arbitrary things is “self improvement” is awful. You don’t need these things to be the best version of yourself you can be. Intent is everything. These videos are all about boosting your ego and giving you a toxic mindset. The only way that these videos could actually be self improvement is, if it had a good intent. Let’s say I wanted to work on my social skills and I wanted to be better at communicating with others. In that case, yes it would be best to learn to make friends better. Or, let’s say, I wanted to make my parents, happier and be a good kid for them. In that case, yes it would be good to get my grades up. I could also wanna go to good college to accomplish my dreams. That is also another example of how this could be self improvement. Intent is truly everything and these self proclaimed self improvement videos lead people down a bad path. Focus on what self improvement was originally all about. Becoming a better more fulfilled person. You can do that without grades or any superficial ideas people have put in your head. That said, you can also have self improvement with these ideas, as long as your intent is good.

This was most likely the exact reason my self improvement journey was at flat, every time I was trying to workout or meditate, I would beat myself down for skipping or missing something and it would just make me skip more things and it just kept spiraling down, thank you for showing me ways to be a better person much love ❤

This is the 1st video I have seen of yours. I just turned 40. Great video young man. This is very true. Don't see many people talking about this. Like telling people they are losers because they only make 60k a year. They aren't you and you are not them. Yeah more money is nice but everyone's situation and strengths are different. Just try to be a slightly better version of yourself than the day before. You remind me of one of the young Jr techs we got. Bout time someone brings this up. 👍✌️

I don't usually comment but I just found this channel and I love it. You do a really good job of helping people become themselves without being condescending and accusing you of not being good enough. I like the gentle encouragement. I'm 16 and I'm in the middle of a confidence crisis. I've been forcing myself to become a wise old man and I can't keep up with it. I'm feeling worthless for not having the answers to things I've never experienced before. And its's exhausting. It's nice to hear the gentle encouragement I need instead of the constant max pressure coming from my head to be mature and wise right now

bro this is exactly what i thought. thanks for covering this topic. Absolutely love your literacy in speaking out your points. Yea, there's also this common problem among some of the more younger ones, teenagers, they tend to interpret the videos, the informations, wrongly. They would get absorbed and be this edgy 'lone wolf'. They take "focus on yourself" way too literally and neglect those around him, even those that cares about em. They would have this unhealthy view of people, like the ones on self-improvement are the top 1% of people and all the others are losers that are stuck in mediocracy and in the 'rat race'. It borderline drives them to be selfish and self-important. What makes it worse is the echo chamber they're in, affirming that their behavior is the right way, like on discords, or tiktok.

Wah pretty good talk bro you cover all the fundamentals and go deeper dont know where all this comes from . Very good bro. Although i think one instead of examining himself which might be the toughest thing and challenge for people, one should examine everything. I know that's even tougher but thats the truth man. Can start with yourself man but the world became wayyy to big to ignore.

I feel like if you start from a place of I’m not worthy of happiness or love that’s the wrong way to go about it for many reasons, starting from okay I accept this about myself doesn’t change how I feel but let’s try doing things differently or picking up new habits and see if it improves my life.

Much more healthy frame than starting from I’m not good enough let me master A and I will be
