Inspired by the Love of Jesus Christ

Verse of the Day (as related to the topic of this video):
"For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace."
- Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NLT)

A movie I highly recommend: The Gospel According to Matthew (starring a very animated and engaging acting performance by Bruce Marchiano, who plays Jesus). This is a word-for-word adaptation that has a unique take on the body language and charisma of Jesus, and also makes it easier to understand and quicker to read the story. I am hopeful that this movie gives you peace, love, hope, security, comfort, and answers, as it did me, and continues to do to this day. God bless you.

Life is like a road, there's a left lane and a right lane with a ditch on both sides. If you move too far to either side, you will crash. it's important to maintain balance no matter what direction you're heading in.

It's okay to act child-like sometimes, but you need to know the difference between that and immaturity. High school is a great example of this, no doubt.

I don't think inner child is about doing anything you want. If anything more to do with being spontaneous. Without having to think and calculate every action in order to benefit you or not trouble you.

“Homer’s attempt to have fun ends up hurting people in the long run.”

Nice.

I think the main lesson here is that you are both an adult and a child. Your child self is you in your purest form, and as you stop needing your parents (other adults) to take care of you, you become an adult and need to take care of yourself. It is now your adult side's responsibility to make sure that both your inner child is listened to and that you are also responsible for the actions of your inner child. Like everything in life, a balance needs to exist, as an extreme of either side will lead to a negative outcome. You need to make sure that you are true to yourself, taking care of yourself, and validating yourself, but also need to realise that there are responsibilities, boundaries, and others to consider whenever we take any kind of action. Your adult self is basically a filter for your child self that needs to accommodate both making sure that we're living our lives to the fullest, but doing so in a non-destructive, responsible way.

I remember there used to be an old saying “Heart of a child, mind of an adult”, which sadly I don’t think many people follow today.

We are all kids that just learned and experience many things in a long run to survive on our own one day, and my parents always said that there is no problem for being childish or showing your inner child, just do it in the right time and still have your head into things

I've always been told that I am childish or child like, and I used to be insecure about it and tried to hide it, but I've realized its just who I am and how I am, and whenever someone says something about how I act I just go "its just how I am so I dont care 🤷‍♂️" ofc when it comes to serious matters ill take it seriously because I know when enough is enough.

my girlfriend never had the chance to express her inner child until she left her elementary school, where a lot of her trauma comes from. We're both autistic and have been bullied, but my experience is nothing compared to hers. Just thought I'd share.

2:13 oh. This is something that ive kind of put onto the core of my outlook on life. You cant act on impulse, it hurts people, it makes people not like you, it makes you a social outcast... Or at least thats what happened to me. See, I have autism, which means a lot of things, but in this instance it got me suspended from school *a lot* around 3rd/4th grade. I decided around middle school id put in a big effort into learning and maintaining self control, as that was my problem. Id "do what I feel like" and it would get me in trouble, so id keep having to change schools and never be able to get a social life. I had therapy which im sure did help a little, but the fact is it had to be *my* choice to start improving my behavior. So to hear it sort of said as a bad thing to have self control like that, feels very odd.
2:53 hmm, thats vindicating, its basically the same message of what I figured out for myself all those years ago.
4:35 thats the big thing, awareness is very important. Of your souroundings, of yourself. Just... watch, listen, take in information, and process it.

We have to be the parent to our inner children, which means letting our inner child flourish, feel loved and be happy but also setting boundaries and doing what's best in the long run, even if our inner child doesn't like this.

After hearing the part of this video talking about balance, I'm reminded of a scene from Samurai Jack's 5th Season; specifically when he's making tea for the monk

that topoic reminds me of a famous quote of a german author, Erich Kästner, saying "only the one who grows into an adult but stays a child is human". I think it just illustrates that we all have (or should have) both sides, the adult, mature and the childish one. But of course we need to learn which one is suited for different situations. Having learned to be responsible but stay able act childishly (and freer) when it's okay to do so (meaning it has no bad consequences for anyone)

I love it when shysters peddle easy answers. It makes solutions seem so much more accessible. Emphasis on the word seem

5:30 Balance Is Everything… I learned that lesson from Uncle Iroh a long time ago, glad to see someone else doing the same

The fact that a cartoon has to teach adults that they have responsibilities and that sometimes difficult situations have to be addressed or difficult decisions made goes to show how messed up western world is.

An old friend once told me, they had long lost what makes them themselves, just doing what's expected of them by others. I can now say, with almost sincerity, that I know what they meant back then... But losing my self along with my sanity in turn has made it clear that, if you want to keep you, well... You, have a better hold on your beliefs and practices in your life. Hold true to yourself like your life depends on it, or something can go very wrong, and you could lose yourself forever.

When I first watched this episode it really changed by view on something I have never thought of before. I never bothered to care about self-help stuff and respected it, but the episode exposed a very real problem almost entirely ignored.
