Some of these differences might be hard to hear depending on what device you're using. If you're having trouble hearing the differences, try headphones.

Randy Rektor's channel:
(Thanks, Randy!)

In this episode, we lean how to make YouTube videos sound better, including how to make your voice sound better for YouTube and how to get better sound quality on YouTube.

You might find this video interesting if you're using a Rode VideoMic, Rode Lavalier, or RodeLink transmitters as well.

Dude. Those moving blankets made a world of difference! So did switching over to the Videomic!

One quick tip, if it's in your budget. Get yourself a pencil mic, AKA a small diaphragm condenser mic. They're traditionally used for drum overheads, but they're also perfect for indoor dialog, because they're much less sensitive in the rear of the mic than shotguns. I personally recommend the Oktava MK-012.

Either way, what you did here was like night and day! Great video!

Sometimes I catch myself whispering. So one thing I always need to remind myself of is to talk loudly. That’s a Cody Wanner audio tip.

Great tips James and Randy, I’ve had similar problems with audio so I’ll take this on board!
I made a video a few months ago about using sound blankets to dampen my audio similar to what you done near the end! That’s worked great for me recently 👍🏼

I"m going to see what I can learn from Randy, but for the deep dive on audio for youtube I can highly recommend Curtis Judd on YouTube. Yes, these improvements here are a little subtle - the audio wasn't awful to begin with - but well worth it!

At the 6:30 mark in your video I think you're room acoustics sound pretty darn good.
I agree with what Randy' is saying on 100% of what he's talking about.
There's nothing worse than sound bouncing off the walls.
You're doing fine buddy. Arizona beautiful too hot for me. That's because I'm an old dude 71 years old I can't believe it.
My mind still says I'm 25. LOL

99% of the time
I'm listening to your videos with headphones on because I'm watching them on my phone.
I love using headphones because you just hear it so much better if you know what I mean and I'm sure you do know what I mean.
Get back to you in a bit.

Now let me get back to your video and I will leave you another comment and we can talk.
Because your channel is very good.

Good stuff, even for us "veterans". I should know all of these, but I still fail on some of these time and time again.

I'll be honest, when not wearing head/earphones, you can barely hear any difference

By the way, if you're not hearing the difference (e.g., on phone or laptop speakers), try it with headphones or on good speakers and the differences should be a lot clearer.

Games my friend you're right on track.
I am an audio guy when it comes to certain things.
Average Joe would not
Complain about the audio in any of your YouTube videos.
I have heard other videos that completely totally Suck.
But yours are not horribly bad by a long shot, seriously.
Tell you briefly what I was going to do when I make a video and I add music to it.
Many times I edit my sound and cut it at a certain point the audio that is.
And if you listen very carefully sometimes you get a little blip in there.
So many times I will run it through audacity and enlarge it so I can see those little blips.
Then I will silence those little parts that don't need to be there.
I will send you a video that has some bad blips in it that I should never have put on YouTube.
But I was in a big hurry to push the video out.
And it's not good to be in a hurry when you're doing this type of work.
Get back to you later.
I have to finish watching your video here.
