I think teachers deserve to be paid more than $40, 000 a year (USA). They put a lot of there own money into necessary things for the class and students like pencils, pens, books, etc. The government needs to step up and start paying them more.

What this video doesn't consider is the value of money. For example £30k a year may a lot of money in one country and very little in another.

Teachers are such an important pillar in the community and yet they're so unappreciated

My mother is a single mom who is a teacher and I strongly believe they should be paid a LOT more. The amount of effort required for this job and the compassion to want to teach and make students understand and prepare them for the real world is priceless. Yet she makes very little and we struggle even with me working part time as a 14 year old. Please please appreciate your teachers because they work very hard to prepare you. Thank you.

My favorite high school teacher told the class that he made $70, 000 a year, but that's only because he's been teaching for over 10 years. At the time that he said this, he had been a teacher for 11 or 12 years (I can't remember exactly). That was 1 or 2 years ago. When he reaches 15 years, he'll get another raise. He says a lot of people don't stay teachers that long because it's too much work and not enough pay for all the work they have to do.

In Greece actually, the teachers in public schools make way less than 25, 750$. Only the ones that give private lessons make 25, 750 or maybe even more than this.
