Thanks for having this conversation with Greg Lex. What he has to say honestly breaks my heart. I will even rethink my Google reviews and the affect they may have on people.

Exercise, aim for 7/8 hours sleep, no alcohol and eat healthy 90% of the time will help massively with depression & low mood ✌🏾

Anyone reading it, please make sure you look out for people you know who might struggle with depression. Sometimes, it is not so obvious that they struggle mentally. There is still a stigma attached to depression and anxiety, etc. Suicidal thoughts should be taken seriously. They show that depression had altered a person's thinking to an extended that become self-destructive. It is related to depression & it needs to be treated. Sometimes suicidal ideation is accompanied by a plan. It is very dangerous & needs a doctor / psychologist attention. I met people whose loved ones committed suicide. It is heartbreaking how they felt. They have to live with this until the end of their lives. They always blame themselves for what they could have done differently to save their loved one. It is a horrible, deep grief they are faced with. So, empathetically reaching out to a person who is depressed is of paramount importance. Many lives can be saved by showing people that there is help & treatment available. Suicidal, self-degrading thoughts, and distorted thinking and cognitive decline of the higher cognitive functions are signs of depression.
It is not the usual state of the mind or person's choice.

This is fascinating. I will say that there are some depressions where the chemistry doesn’t work and Peterson emits that you need medication in some cases. Nothing can fix that. I appreciate the acknowledgment that this particular mode described is real. And yeah. Culture war… like caring about that BS. Just get away from it ALL

Getting over be depressed and living with depression are 2 different things. You can get over being depressed. Being born or developing depression is something you will never get over, you just have to learn how to best manage it and live with it.

My struggle is that there is a real person on both sides of this. There’s a real person on the other side of the Nazi’s speech that he defends. Now what? It’s bad when it’s cancel culture but fine when it’s a Nazi? This is a genuine struggle for me. I’m not trying to say that cancel culture doesn’t exist. Just that I don’t think his philosophy necessarily confronts all of the cruelty going around.

Elitism, nepotism and buddy-ism is most definitely becoming a serious burden on the health of the US society. In the previous generation it was normal to hear the life stories of people that went to Ivy League schools like Ray Dalio, Warren Buffet, etc. being middle class people born to working parents and earning their way to their status and now it is becoming more and more of the new generation being sent to these schools by their parents and arranging their perceived status.

Your content is so valuable, admirable and useful in abundance. Having said that, please, do NOT interview Elon Musk again, he's all over the place already, we hear ad-nauseaum what and how he thinks. Simply put, it would be redundant.
