How to set up and use your Dyson V8™ cordless vacuum

Getting started: How to set up and use, recharge, and empty your new Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum.

Please note, the colourway of your particular machine may vary from the one shown in the video, but the process for using it will be the same.

Some Dyson V8 models may include additional accessories not shown in the video - these will attach to your machine or wand in the same way as the standard Combination tool and Crevice tool.

1. Attach the wand to the bin assembly and attach the supplied main cleaner head (will vary depending on model).
2. To operate the max mode, locate the switch on the top of the appliance. Slide the switch to the Max mode position.
3. To switch off Max mode, slide the switch back to the Powerful suction mode position.
4. If your machine has a mini motorhead, it can provide the functionality of the main cleaner head but in hard to reach areas, such as your sofa.
5. Empty as soon as the dirt reaches the level of the MAX mark - do not overfill.
6. Pull the red lever upwards to release the cyclone. Continue until the bin base automatically open and releases the dirt.
7. Press the cyclone down fully. Close the bin base ensuring it clips shut.

My cousin works in high tech and in a meeting everyone was asked "What's been a game changer in your life?" She said "This may sound strange, but the Dyson vacuum." just bought a Dyson (my parents did, their money their home)yesterday after visiting stores for 2days before purchasing. I'd seen it used by all these instagram YouTube influencers etc and seeing the prices initially i thought it's a high end product very expensive and i could never ask them to buy it/afford even if it's one time investment etc. but finally somehow price seemed feasible enough to buy at the moment and I'm very impressed . yet to use it at home but I'm sure it'll work well

In the store where I bought V8, the salesperson told me not to insert any of the three parts directly into the main engine part and he said that I should always keep the long metal pipe with the engine during use and insert these different parts only into the long metal pipe. I’m surprised to see you use the other parts inserted directly into the engine.

Direct Drive Cleaner Head: 25 Mins - 7 mins on max
Fluffy and Mini Motörhead: 30 mins - 8 mins on max
Non motor tools: 40 minutes - 10 minutes on max

Thanks for the video. I’ve just bought this and when I started to charge, there is no indicator light at all, is this normal and i have to wait? Im not even sure if it is charging or not (been 10 minutes now) and there is no indicator lights blinking

There needs to be more control for suction on these. If you have a low profile rug the suction is just too strong even on the low setting. As a result some of my rugs are damaged.
