A tip to the people from someone who used this rig a lot as a beginner:

I was also told about the "reel in very slowly" action however through personal experience this works best with curly tails, lizards, or anything with the curly bits.

When using stick worms or worms with no curly bits I recommend casting into an area with a lot of cover (weeds, rocks, fallen trees, etc.) then allowing it to sink to the bottom. If you picked the right bait and you dropped it right next a fish there's a good chance they'll strike immediately. Otherwise let it sit on the bottom for just a few seconds. (count to 3 or 5) then give it a sharp twitch, or a good little yank upwards to pop it off the bottom. Reel in the slack carefully and allow it to sink again. If you have the right bait and there are fish about where you cast then you should get a bite every other cast.

Been trying to fish the grass flats with just a normal jig setup and I catch a big clump of grass every time. I feel like this setup will be my new best friend

Great video! I would put the green part on top and the white part of the bait on bottom. Fish are always darker on top.

Used a weighted Texas Rigged Black/Blue Senko Earlier and casted to the fountain in my local neighborhood pond. Casted perfectly, hitting just on the outskirts of the water and I felt a "b- b- BAM", I let him tighten my line, and set the hook. Thiught I was snagged for a second, but though, "This is déjà vu, this is a fish." Never saw a bass bigger than 3 pounds jump before. 4 Pounder jumped and it was awesome! On a medium Rod! Pulled drag and faught like h*ll. Dink catcher, but also a giant catcher. Second best.

I learned how to Texas Rig about 5 years ago now. Absolute GAME CHANGER. 🎣

I went fishing with friends and crushed it. They were all asking me to set them up with the lures I was using. We had a great day after they all got the hang of it. Straight Fire 🔥

Texas Rig is my go to for bass fishing. I usually use 7" stick baits. The little lakes around me are super weedy so I like to bury the end of my hook inside the stick bait to make it truly weedless. I've heard people claim it makes it harder to set the hook, but I haven't ever had an issue.

Carolina rig is just as good & used in addition to soft plastics used as a bottom bait rig fresh & saltwater.Bullet slip sinker on the line. Swivel w/clasp loop knot in the clasp hook on the end. Heavier lb test is usually preferred on the bottom part as a shock leader for bottom fishing. Example 12 lb main line to 30 or 40 lb shock leader. Now your main line will break around 17-18 lbs due to extra stretch of shock leader. Bigger fish swivel no clasp. I've had the clasp bust open many times garfish/catfish.

Remember you can control the fall speed by using a lighter hook or thicker hook if you go weightless
