Just quit my Job after 14 years of dedication and hard work from an employer that has dramatically changed culture and respect-wise. 2 years ago after working the night shift for 12 years in multiple stores and even states, I became a supervisor. The first year, we were under staffed around 6 people and were still #1 in the district in stores while running a team of 13 by my self. Second year I had a direct manager overseeing my job. We hired 6 new people and became 3rd in the region in night teams. Everyone was getting awards, appreciation, and even set up for promotion when I was the one making that entire store and managment team look good. I got a new job while on vacation and gave my 2 week notice when I came back. I was the glue that held that store together and they treated me like a ghost, slave worker. The grass is definitely greener on the other side and people are still quitting my former employer in droves, I probably made one of the best decisions of my life to leave, Appreciation, Respect, and a non toxic atmosphere is vital to longevity in any work place...moral of my story...don't be like my former employer.

Love that Mike. There's no doubt that the workers of the present rightly expect more from leaders, with culture, empathy and psychological safety right at the top of the list. This is where the good managers and leaders will really reap the rewards from their great treatment of their people and the crappy managers finally get found out.

Reality is that’s not a new phenomenon, most people want to leave their job. For decades, the number one reason people leave their job is their direct manager. Great video buddy!

Truth that resonates with me! Thank you Mike!
Employers have to rethink their approach as much as employees do at this time. Once we see a symbiosis in the workplace rather than a pure hierarchy we become so much more productive!
